Time to go now.. Only a year or so too late but at least we might be able to save the season. Get rid of Clark and save us from repeated mediocrity...

I started this thread after the debacle at Rochdale where we made Dale look a decent side, I continued it after the garbage we played at Oldham. Now I find myself ready for all the abuse I will get from the Lee Clark fan club, if you love him so much go to the next club with him, because he surely cannot continue. Our season started with so much promise and now we find ourselves in the doldrums of a shit division and we have spent a fortune and nothing to show for it. It really is time for a change otherwise we could be in serious trouble, He clearly cannot motivate the players he has brought in and that is crucial! A new voice and a new outlook is surely needed, I have seen some bad managers at our club and sadly he is amongst them now, tactically bettered by Wadsworth? ? It defies logic, Sorry Lee but Bye, bye!

But there are 9 teams below us within 3 points, all with at least 1 game in hand.

We've not even got to the halfway point so lets not write us off just yet. Its not looking good, no, but this is Town, we've never done it the easy way have we? Lets see what happens in January.

We are only 3 points worst off than last season at this stage and that was in a stronger division (so we its possible we are better off). It doesn't feel good now but I expected a defeat today. We have had a difficult run of games and two more to come so there is still some light at the end of the tunnel.
Soon as we replace Johnson the better.

Only what others are saying on a parallel thread - why give this guy so much grief.
I'm not ready for LC to go yet but by God I'm wavering.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..
Ive tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for last season, and also for much of this season .... but alas how now can anyone still be pro clark ?
weve now lost 43% of league games this season !! (in a poorer league than last season)
last season we lost 26% of league games all season !!!
(yes were doin ok in some cups , but weve beaten nobody yet really in the cups)
He clearly doesnt know how to get the best out of *HIS* expensively assembled UNDERSTRENGTH 'quality' squad .
As ive said before.. a good manager is not only one who can attract good players to the club, by waving Sir Deanos cheque book around in the transfer market .. i could do that and so could most of you guys reading this right now .. and we'd be where we are now in the league ..... But not for long, when the games in hand are played by the chasing pack , we will find ouselves a part of a chasing pack with a MANAGER WHO HAS NOT GOT THE ANSWERS .. ONLY THE CLICHES .. !!
If he is allowed to spend again in January ... all Sir Deano is doing is allowing LC to mask over his GLARING managerial shortcomings by once again trying to spend his way out of trouble .
To his credit he has brought some quality footballers to the club , but unfortunately 40% of his buys have been rubbish .
Sometimes its as if LC thinks that hes playin on his PC championship manager game with our club .. !!
I hope we dont have to wait until the end of the season to see the back of him ..
IVE LOST THE FAITH

We're I'm trouble pomey. I was excited after the Brighton game, but a real team would have gone on a run after such a great victory. We look worse than last season despite 10 signing in the summer. All from higher divisions on big wages.

What happened to the FACT that Alan Lee and Joey Gudjonsson are our best players, Billy? FICTION! I will tell you this Pompey and goes even further to solidify my thoughts on Clark. Alan Lee Joey Gudjonnson Scott Arfield Joe Garner Jamie Mcombe All came here with big reputations and well thought of by previous fans of clubs they played for. You don't just become a bad player over night.

Trouble is Ged their blinkers are glued on!! and if anything were worse than last season. Don't think theres 'if anything' about it. We are 'definately 'worse than we were this time last season IMO. Defensively worse, then with Johnson out worse in midfield and definately FAR worse as an attacking force. Id even say Smithies isn't as good as he was last season. The only position thats improved is right side of Midfield cos Pilks is generally ( not today) much better than he was a year ago. and all in a much weaker division too.

I'd love to get the stats between poster IQ level and the quantity of negative posts after a defeat.
Only surprise is that boxster isn't blaming matt glennon, BatleyGed has been nowhere to be seen for a month, oh we won 4, I see, cowshedphil has only changed his mind 765342518191 times this week from being for the manager and on the verge of something special the last time I checked after brighton, now we're in trouble!
Can someone tell me about this strong midfield centre pairing we had last season cos I've now read it for about the twentieth time since Christmas. Which combination of drinkwater, collins, kay, berrett, goodwin was this? Becuase from my memory this was the weakest part of the team?

Clark couldn't make his mind up, he was constantly changing, sounds familiar? I agree he couldn't - he brought in Johnson and solved it didn't he, with Kay/Arfield/Gudjonsson used at various points. If he'd kept Gudjonsson in, you'd be moaning he had favourites, he changes it and you're moaning he's constantly changing! :shake: I've read on various points that our midfield is weaker than it was last year which is complete nonsense. Without Johnson, you could argue it is, but that wasn't the point being made, the point was that Clark has made the midfield weaker which is complete rubbish. Since 11 Septemer, Johnson started every single game he could - the one he didn't was one he couldn't v Plymouth.

we are in playoffs but 9 defeats so far. Looking at the league says everyone can beat everyone. I would back him because the players are doing shocking:(

It seemed clear to me, from his post-match interview, that Lee Clark knows his job is on the line.
If he cannot use "nous" and adapt to oppositions' (intentional plural) skills and capabilities, he will fail, and he will rightly be out on his ear.
I suspect I'm being more patient than Dean Hoyle!
