what is the point of that? Nothing like as good a goal scorer as the one we have just shipped out...Surely if we are moving forward we need to replace JR with a better striker...oh sorry, of course, silly of me, there isnt one

Beckford would be a better option than the some other names banded about IMO. :ninja:
I would now like to see us get the 2 Dundee Utd lads and IF we were to add Beckford to that it might cheer me up a bit because I'm not very happy at the moment.

No no - never liked him since his fingered salute to the Town fans when we lost 4-0 at Leeds under Rich Tea biscuit.

Beckford also has a 1 in 4 record at Premiership level. Don't think he'd be a bad signing at all.

Look at it this way... if Vaughan and Beckford were starting against us for Ipswich on Saturday, I'd be mighty concerned.

But of course he has one of those nasty horrible full sleeve tattoos that are detrimental to a footballers ability. Get a grip lad. I and most others would drive to Leicester to bring Beckford here.(although he probably has a car)

I never suggested an arm with tattoos was detrimental to ability - you made that up! If you're going to state something I never said and on the back of that say to get a grip (condescending itself I'd add) then you get the deserved response back! Hands up, I should have added a wink after the tattoo remark, don't get so hung up about something so small! It was said in jest - my error for not adding a wink.

I remember the days when specialun used to post good stuff on here... I remember when this board was a place for debate rather than cliques A place for rational debate...when you backed up your point and it was debated rather than dismissed And when there was a bit of humour involved! Maybe its the 606 influx? I don't like Beckford as a person, a character and that's important for a football club, I'd rather us look at other targets - Does that mean he'd be a bad signing? No of course not. My "no no..." isn't reflection of his ability. For what its worth, I don't think he's the right striker to look at, but does it mean I think he'd be a bad signing? No. The tattoo comment, for goodness sake chaps, lighten up - it was said in jest, and I missed the wink! I couldn't give one whether he has long hair, short hair, black, white, gay, straight, ex Leeds, ex Bradford, 6 tatoos, no tattoos or 20. Does it affect his football ability - Course not!! To suggest otherwise would be madness! :nodding:

Now there is a thought. If only we could sign a Black ,long haired, gay ex L**ds and Bradford player, with 2 full sleeve tattoos, we would be the most controversial club in England.

"@fourthofficial_
Expecting Huddersfield Town to enquire about Jermaine Beckford #HTAFC #LCFC"
He seems to be one of the few on Twitter that has a clue what's going on.

I can't believe Rhodes has actually gone. We could've made the play offs. His career might go the way of Stead's now.
