I like Lionel, was/is one of my favorite players many of you may be surprised to know! But with his attitude and gangsta like behaviour apparently then i wouldn't mind seeing him leaving, but i think he is a good footballer and didn't get much chance.

Good move for them both, I'll wish Skarz all the best, but I'll hope Lionel fails epically and ends up being a big issue seller in Shrewsbury town centre. Prick.

Why is Lionel a prick again? I know it's a given on here but I'm just wondering who he insulted or forgot to to?

I think lionel is a decent footballer, just didn't get get a run in the team. Also down at norwich he came over and gave my son his hat he was wearing, good guy in my book!

Probably due to the fact that: We paid a (relatively) big transfer fee for him. We are paying him good wages. He has had plenty of opportunities and hasn't contributed hardly anything positive to the team in the 18 months(?) he has been with us. He appeared (from the outside) to have a poor attitude and disrupted the squad (Theo pre and post Ainsworth a case in point). He (apparently) posted on Facebook that Huddersfield was "shit" and that there was no decent "scene". And complained about having to go to Carlisle on Boxing Day (he is a professional footballer int he?). He went to Brentford and fell out with the players/manager, probably a continuation of the above points. We now have to write off the aforementioned sizeable transfer fee and hope someone takes him from us. I am only guessing here though like? I don't actually have a problem with him, i just don't think he is very good, and the sooner he leaves the better, for both HTFC and himself.

From people that have met him (I have just once) I've not heard anyone say a bad word about him, in fact quite the opposite. I don't buy in to this thing with Theo, when Theo was playing at the start of the season he was scoring goals, then he didn't play because Novak and Rhodes started linking well, then he got back in the team and continued scoring. On a personal level he joined us at the worst time in his life and he doesn't seem to have been able to settle. The Brentford manager fell out with him because he was frustrated at being subbed, I seem to remember Gary Roberts throwing his toys, clothes and himself out of the pram when it happened to him. I think if someone gives him a chance and he learns how to he can do a good job at this level, he's still only young and needs to transfer the way he plays in training in to games but maybe that's a confidence thing. I don't think he has had lots of opportunites, a few sub appearances here and there make it hard to get any rhythym going. He's right about the nightlife in Huddersfield though ;D

I would have thought he would have felt at home with the nightlife in Huddersfield; probably just as much chance of getting shot here as in Nottingham these days.

Yeah like i say, i don't know anything about him so hard for me to comment.
He has had plenty of chances though, with both us and Brentford, and managed to fall out/piss off both managers. Surely not a coincidence?
When he has been given starts and come from the bench (for us) he hasn't produced anything, of any note. Maybe one cross that led to a goal just before he was taken off, is all that i can remember him contributing.
With Roberts and Pilkington ahead of him, he really needed to make the most of his chances and stake a claim for a starting place. He never even came close to challenging them, and he has to take responsibility for that.
Anyway, it hasn't worked out for him here, he doesn't like the area, he doesn't get on with Clark, doesn't get in the team....therefore best that he moved on for all parties.
He is right about the Huddersfield nightlife, not because it lacks his kind of "scene" just because it is pretty crap. It would be markedly worse though if it did contain the type of bars/clubs he seemingly is into.....

Huddersfield is dire for a night out, Vox bar is it's only saving grace and I can't see Lionel enjoying it in there.
There's always Leeds and Manchester, sure he can spring for a taxi

Even if he did have two assists, that is abysmal for one of Lee Clark's big money signings.
Whether that be the fault of the player for not producing, or the manager, for first signing him and then not playing him, who is to say? We do not see training sessions or are privy to what goes on behind the scenes.
Probably a bit of both of the above in fairness; but anyway, i can't see him playing for us again, and so we move on and look forward....

And he could easily live in Leeds or Manchester, or anywhere else even, and commute in like a normal person would if they didn't like the place they worked. Not as if he is working long hours or anything.

Yeah definitely, although like i say, not having his scene is probably a good thing.
Huddersfield could do with a couple more bars like Vox/Zephyr though, i wouldn't have minded investing and owning one when i lived there....

The reasons Floyds has stated. Am I a prick for not liking someone who slates my hometown, doesn't want to put in the effort for the club, and then disrupts another dressing room a few hundred miles down south, where he's been given another chance? I think not, prick.

To be fair to the manxman, he doesn't get to that many games.
Ainsworth has had his chance to impress though, and failed. Shame really cos I'm sure he has the talent, but he doesn't have the attitude to make it.

Had chances, not taken them. He's had problems - fine. I refuse to comment on his attitude as I have never met him.
If he stays - fine with me but he better hit the ground f*cking sprinting cos he's had support and opportunities.
If he goes - extra transfer + wage kitty.

Bleeding he'll the hatred for lionel is beyond a joke now ... So what if he slated off Huddersfield it's true the nightlife is wank and I can bet that he ain't the only person to say that , and what gives any body the right to call him shit when he's the professional footballer and you lot ain't ?? Give the guy a fucking break he failed to impress but there's no need to keep having A go when I could bet that if you was face to face with him you wouldn't say jack shit !!!

Usual "hes better at it than you" rubbish No shit sherlock, nobodies saying they could do better, he's the professional football because he has the talent for it unlike the majority of people, despite that he doesn't have the attitude to fulfil his potential and that IMO makes him a prick, there's thousands of people out there that would love to have the chances he's had. Waste of talent, Leon Knight all over again, and I hate it when these players come round, t'is why I can be over critical of Pilks after his poor games, don't want more wasted talent.
