These corrupt war torn countries need to get their act together for the sake of the innocent people always seemingly caught up in the battle.

Just watching this now, most of the fatalities were caused by blows to the head.

Just seen some footage of loads of people flooding to the right hand side of the stadium, nobody down on the pitch or anything. Where have the fatalities happened?

Sounds like a lot of knives involved and stadium set on fire. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-16845841Think those images were just the start of the trouble...

When sport becomes more than a competition, it often becomes ugly. The sad story recently, racism, violence, death. Horrible.

It blows my mind that they have free standing chairs near the fans with a history of violence.

Truly unimaginable, however, I think it may go beyond sport and delve into the world of 'tribal' politics. Innocent victims whatever the cause. Shameful for fans to be caught up in the hijacking of the game by thugs and murderers.

For some reason I don't think that the violence witnessed is through the passion of football. These people are living in countries with absolutely no rights what so ever and are not raised with any kind of morals due to them having to fight to survive from the moment they were born. As much as I would love to piss off to Australia, I can't help feel lucky compared to what some people have to put up with.

Would you be making excuses for them if you were one of the 73 (so far) families who have lost a loved one? Bloody animals, no excuses.

It looks like the set of fans that were attacked (Al Ahly) were the, lets say, revolutionary group and the attacking fans were the group more in favour of the military rule. They will have been instructed by the military to do this. A large proportion of Al Ahly fans were ever-present at Tahrir Square.
I found some videos on Al Ahly's website...
Terrible! 76, they say, are dead.
