hen07tea - Perhaps I should have explained better. Last time I went in, the only real ale (hand pulled) they had on was about 6% - not really a good idea when I'm out all day! Mind you, it was before the Hull game, so perhaps I should have had a pint or 3! I wasn't actually knocking the place (as I don't mind it for a change, even though my mates hate it), but for something that's meant to be a real ale pub, there doesn't seem to be much real ale choice (& I've been in 4 or 5 times all told).

Hes hardly our reject since we offered him a contract and hes gone to a bigger club on bigger money..... however not a good signing for Birmingham. he is a poor champ striker and only a decent league 1 striker. interesting views from his namesake, you think hes only league one standard then ? cant agree tbh. hope he shows a few on here next season.

I'm very much with Grist. Not anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. He seems a bit 'big time' too.

I think that's what Offtopic was saying wasn't it? It was presumably only a poor contract from Novak's perspective. Cast-off sounds a bit harsh on the lad, but he's no longer here because we didn't want him (enough) so that's what he is. We 'Cast off' Beckford then.

You and many others may get to eat your words. Novak was magnificent for us and I completely regret him leaving. I've made a note of those that will need to eat their words when he gets going next season, and similarly, I hope you doubters have made a note of mine. Novak, you will be an immense loss and many thanks for everything you have done for us. LMAO. I suppose I might LMAO too if we compare his contributions to those of Rhodes, but for a non league snip, I honestly think he applied himself magnificently. If when we signed him from oblivion we were aware that we were going to sell/give him to Birmingham in the end we would have been very impressed in the way we have let him develop. There are some on here that are far too prepared to criticise and too few that are prepared to appreciate honest endeavour and hard worked achievement..

According to the radio today for the season just finiszhed in terms of t.v. money, Man U were the highest paid PL team at £61M, QPR the lowest paid at £30M. It also said these figures would be "dwarfed" next season when the new deal kicks in.
The sad thing is Mondays play off final is the "£100M game" and Stoke, WBA and the rest now play stiffs in the FA Cup because it`s the PL that`s important, it used to be the dream to get to the top flight so you could play "big" teams but now everything seems to revolve around money and despite an endless flow of cash clubs charge £40 and £50 for a fan to watch one game.

According to the BBC. "Tony Pulis to leave Stoke City after seven years in charge following talks with chairman Peter Coates" Thoughts? I liken it to Curbishley at Charlton. They think they can go higher but can't.

The Taylor Report of 1990 laid the blame squarely with the police and exonerated the fans of any blame. That is the truth that has been known since day one and officially since 1990. Why is this fact continually ignored as folk seemingly try to rewrite history. I can see an argument for justice (and we could argue all day long over what form that should take) but the truth has always been known despite what many like to argue. Ok thrice I'm assuming that your latest revelations are a product of zero research since last night.. Ill give you a small aperitif in the hope you will then want to find out more .. I somehow think I'm wasting my time but... Ms williams spent all of her later life trying to prove as a lie the covered up claim that her son was dead by 3.15, thus meaning that the APPALLING BEYOND BELIEF response by the emergency services (ambulances lined up down the street with one, then later three on the pitch when 100 people were dead or dying) was irrelevant anyway I'm not sure how old you are or whether you have kids but if it was your son would your attitude be "even though I know I'm right I really should pack this in cos everyone's bored of this now " Please no more The Taylor Report did not report on the time of deaths etc. That was the later coroners inquest which is the real bone of contention by the campaign. You are getting yourself muddled between the various reports & inquests that have been conducted over time and misguidedly tarring them all with the same brush. The Taylor Report of 1990 delivered the truth that has subsequently been re-revealed to us. The coroners decision to stick a 3.15pm cut off was made for pragmatic reasons at the time to alleviate the unprecedented work load that they had been dealt rather than designed as a cover up. I am not bored of the campaign, far from it, but I do think that it needs to identify what its focus & aim is. Trying to nail the emergency services would not be a good start!

Squad player at best for this level. If he's be bought as anything else, and this is the standard of Birmingham signings this summer then they're going to be right down there next year.
A couple of decent performances last year and contributed to us staying up....but, "magnificent"???? What have you been smoking? The fact that a lot of Town fans would start a fit Novak over a fit Beckford says everything unfortunately.

Sorry to say, 'cos I think the bloke that owns the Hand Drawn Monkey is a regular on this site, but I'd avoid the place if I was you. They charge a fortune for "craft beer" - American keg stuff, that's popular recently but it's nothing like real ale. Also, the bar's above head height for most of the people in the place - weird. In Huddersfield, the Tavern / Kings Head on the station does good ale but there's nothing else to get excited about in there (unless you go on Tuesday nights for the pensioners karaoke). Grove would be my tip in Huddersfield. Don't bother going all the way to Batley, the Cellar Bar is gash. West Riding on Dewsbury station platform does good beer, but I don't like the layout of the place. If a pool table is an important part of the night, Navigation Tavern in Mirfield has one, the place will be fairly quiet of a weeknight and they have a fair range of decent ales and whatnot - the landlord has definitely earned his nickname tho' (Kevin the C**t).

If you go stop off in Slawit (Slaithwaite) try The Commercial or The Shoulder of Mutton, both recently been done up and The Shoulder now boasts a billiards table.
In Marsden the real ale pub is the Riverhead, you can sit outside next to the river if the weather is nice too. The Swan in Marsden has a pool table, but the pubs abit sh*t.
Take it from me your doing the right thing going midweek, especially if your a scouser.
There's about 200 Mancuians on every train, nobs hanging out, pissed out of their brains.

I think Lee has something to prove at this level, and he will be absolutely determined to show that he can do it. I would have liked to have seen him at Town next season, but this is a perfect opportunity for him, and I wish him all the best in the future.

Except he cast us off by refusing a contract. A contract which the previous manager handed out at a poor rate and one which the new manager didn't see fit to improve How do you know it was a poor rate? The more likely reason he didn't sign was, he knew where he was going. Nudge nudge, wink wink.
