Now we are all relaxed and ready for Euro2016 and next seasons championship..we can enjoy the tense battles of those scrapping for survival or honours.
Leicester v Spurs for the title.. yes we all want Leicester..but...lose today...both clubs have to visit Chelsea..
Sunderland/Newcastle/Norwich - only one can survive.. Sunderland 2 games in hand, but Arsenal(h) this aft....Do we want the two NE clubs down ?
Boro', Burnley, Brighton - tied on 87 points...who will miss out and face the dreaded play-offs...and Boro play Brighton in the last game of the season...
Sheff Wed/Cardiff ... 6th place battle - and meet at Hillsbro' next saturday..Cardiff have to win.then just 1 point between them on the last day of the season ..
Will Barnsley make the play offs, will Bradford maintain their form..and who out of Millwall, Walsall, BCFC and Barnsley...? I'd prefer Barnsley tbh
Accrington v Bolton next season ? Good to see Plymouth and Portsmouth (and AFC Wimbledon) making the play offs..or even auto 's..Also Bristol Rovers (the Gas) ..nice to see them doing well since their year in the Conference..who can forget the year before when the dropped into 23rd place for the first time after the last game of the season...losing at home 0-1...oh the pain.
Then we have Halifax - one game to go, a point ahead of Guisely in the drop zone....final game at the Shay v Macclesfield...tense..really need to win it..or draw...or even lose ??
Good innit ?

Lots of 'yes' answers from me. But ... I remember Halifax fans laughing like a drain when we went into admin, so ... stuff 'em. Hope they go down. Unpopular view, I know ...

Good post. I spent an enjoyable hour this morning also looking at the tables and fixtures. Good run-in for Bristol Rovers ...

Did you clock Eden Hazard's comments at the weekend that Chelsea didn't want Spurs to win the league and were in support of Leicester .. if Chelsea roll over v Leicester and not vs spurs I anticipate repercussions from the FA

Maybe a light rap on Hazard's knuckles. In which case he falls to the ground and rolls around for ten minutes

I don't usually get too passionate/interested in other footballing matters but this season has been far more interesting.
Leicester/Spurs - It all comes down to Chelsea for me....from a supporters viewpoint they would far prefer to see Leicester win than Spurs....will that have any impact on what happens? Maybe, maybe not...My gut feeling is that Spurs will nab Leicester in the shadow of the post as...but time will tell
The Championship promotion revolves around the Boro v Brighton game....I can't see Burnley failing to get the points they need so it comes down to that game...the play-offs are anyones' guess
League 1 - poor league for me, if Burton are 2nd then there is a lack of quality (not to decry their achievement)...in the play-off you have to fancy Millwall to get to a final but it will then depend on who has the bottle at Wembley...Sheff Utd must be scratching their heads about how things have gone awry, a poor result by any account
League 2 - No real interest but what a great season Accy Stanley have had, although it says to me that standards between Conference and League 2 (and possibly League 1) are closer than ever before
Euro's - I just hope Hodgson gives England licence to play with freedom and without fear...our defence isn't good enough to win but our attacking options are certainly encouraging. My concern is Hodgson is cautious by nature and we could get bogged down, as we usually do in tournaments. If we play like we did against Germany no-one should mind if we don't win (which I don't think anyone expects) play like we did against Holland it will be same old England - turgid, poor technique and lagging behind (the other teams). I hope the press are realistic and encourage an England team having a go and actually enjoying a bloody tournament for once.
Cricket - I know this isn't really relevant but here's hoping YCCC win a 3rd County Championship (they can if their strength in depth comes through - 3/4 players will be with England) and hopefully a one day win too...
As for Town - many summer signings and a good pre-season...
The summer could fly by....

Couldn't care less about the PL, apart from who we'll be playing next season, so yes the 2 North East clubs to come down. Brighton to sneak 2nd & Cardiff to win the play offs. (I know the last bit is highly unlikely, but the more Northern teams in the Championship, the better). One of Bradford or Barnsley to win promotion (same reason as above). Blackpool to be relegated. Not too fussed about League 2, but what an achievement it would be for Accrington to make it. Definitely not bothered about Halifax.

I suppose you have to give credit to Northampton Town ... Always remember them for what must be a unique record..From Division 4 to Division 1 and back to Division 4 in 10 years ..1961 to 1970...Their old ground was one of those with the cricket ground alongside the touchline..now in an horrid flatpack stadium..but nevertheless... and Burton Albion, blimey up to the Championship (barring a disaster), it's only 7 years ago they were in the Conference. Think they'll struggle in a higher league..stadium holds less than 7,000 and mainly standing terraces..should be an interesting trip.

Burton certainly not equipped for the Championship. The bonus for us - without wanting to appear needlessly negative - is that they're guaranteed to finish below us.

Really hope Brighton go up. Would be nice to see a team get the PL who has not been there yet. Otherwise it is the same revolving door of clubs who have all had a taste.......................

My predictions (which are usually pretty poor):
Sunderland to avoid drop Boro to miss out on automatic promotion Would love Walsall to win playoffs but prob Millwall Blackpool to go down Accy + Gas to get auto slots

Hope Rovers come up after the respectful way they took the defeat at Wembley and Maskills " nightmarish blur" equaliser at Bath in 1989.

Do Blackburn get extra if Boro go up and we get 20% of that?. Likewise do Leeds get a sell on bonus from us for Clayton?

It's deemed further profit over and above the original transfer fee received I think.
