Is there promotion at the end of all this? And if so why didn't we just get promoted for winning the league?

There's no promotion, the league you're in depends on the Category of your academy (1 being the highest and Town's Academy being a Cat 2). There are several criteria to judge an Academy on (number of coaches, education arrangements for example) and it would cost Town more money than we can afford to upgrade to a Category 1.

no point having the play offs then is there ? I disagree, why should Town be content with being the best team in the North for Category 2 academies when they also have the chance to prove they're the best in the country?

Amazing value with a team sheet! Is it a colour team sheet? £1 for a black and white copy is a bit pricy

no point having the play offs then is there ? No, I mean what's the point in giving young players the experience of a 'final' or a pressure game.

It's a meaningless game or games - no promotion, no cup presumably and very little publicity. Not saying the lads won't be 'up' for it anyway, but 'pressure' game, hardly.

Pressure or no pressure, it's two more games against good opposition for the players to learn from and develop.

Then you could say only the top of each 2 league should have a final. Also they play all the south teams once during the regular season. On another note the team who beat town last season went up, was that just a coincidence that their academy got better?

They do actually receive a trophy for winning the final. If the play-offs have no pressure on them and are basically just training sessions, then why bother with any other matches? I think it's great that they're given the opportunity to win some silverware.

I'm guessing that the PL were expecting the Swansea academy to be deemed Category 1 standard after the audit.

It's easier to achieve the Cat 1 EPP status required for PDL1 when you have Premier League finances I guess. Key requirement for Cat 1...a development operational budget of £2.5m....IMPOSSIBLE to establish whilst Town are a Championship club* *even if we sunk *all* the shared Canalside operating costs in a hole (and therefore extracted them from FFP calcs), I doubt we'd cone anywhere close to that figure.

Why play a semi final game at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon? I guess if they get in the final it will be 1pm on a Monday. Do they not want people to watch these games?
