I always feel a little bit sad at this time of year. The season is drawing to a close and the heady days of Summer are almost upon us. However, it's a Euros year and for the first time since Paul Scholes retired, I've got a good feeling about England! Throw in the Irish, the other Irish side and the sheep-shaggers and there's lots to look forward too. Shame the sweaties missed out (not). My tip is France. They have a feel of the 98 team, solid all over the pitch with lots of potential match winners.

Captain Slapps has been curiously quiet (unless I've missed it) about how brilliant England are and how we have a chance of winning it, so I'm thinking we might have a chance of winning it.
We'll know instantly. Woy will either pick a Rooney-led team or the team that beat Germany. I'll probably not watch it if he goes for loserland for the nth time.

Sorry fellas but we have no chance of winning it. I'd honestly be quite surprised if we made it out of the group stages to boot. Don't get me wrong, we have some great, young players, but I fear Roy will play the wrong players. Against Germany the other month we looked good. Roy will revert to his boring experienced players like Rooney, Henderson and Sterling, who I wouldn't even have in the squad. Another let down for English fans this. Another shite tournament ahead.

I think we'll do well. Give youth a chance. France being the home side must be favourites. As said above, they've a strong side. Just hope they all fall out as usual (although a few malign influences won't be in the squad this time). Griezmann must be a good bet for player of the tournament. As everyone knows, never write off the Germans.

Woy has his favourites, Rooney and Welbeck, Rooney would be in the squad but nowhere near starting. Welbeck spent a long spell out injured but returns and is immediately back in the team. Vardy is a must, I'd have him and Kane leading the line. Henderson is shite,as is Smalling and don't even think about taking Milner.

Another tournament of false hope ending in utter despair & failure beckons me thinks.
The game v Wales will be interesting just because of the 'local derby' aspect to it but other than that it's a massive zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz from me.
If, and it's a big if, Roy picks a team based on current form (i.e. Vardy & Kane up front) Ali sat behind, I might just get my knickers wet.
Time will tell

Sterling is getting worse everytime i see him. He's done nothing to deserve a place in the squad, neither has Walcott or OX. But I'm not sure what alternatives we have to them?

I was looking forward to the tournament this summer until I read your post Steve . I will probably start watching tedious soaps during the Euro'S now.

Atleast his capable of a moment of magic with a long range screamer. I think Sterling has spent too much time with Jesus Navas, hate watching both of them

Well Dig the past 30 years or so would certainly suggest we won't get that far. The last WC was dreadful, including the pre-tournament friendlies. I would like to think we could have a pleasant surprise this time but I won't hold my breath.

Ok so how many current or ex players will be at Euro 2016 off the top of my head im saying 3? Well, there are 24 teams taking part, so if the squads are 25 strong that makes 600 players! I assume you're alluding to how many current or ex-Town players? So, why not say who they are?

you have to hope that the players doing it all season get the starts from the first game.. we unfortunately will have players on the bench for Roy who can assist in 'chasing' games and that will figure high in his thoughts..
We do now have a team that can break at a 100mph with the ball and pass it, we also have the 100mph option with a longer ball.. unfortunately you can see Roy going with the slower options to try and control the game rather than win it in the first half.
It might be more frustrating that usual, hope not..I dont think we will win it by conceding less than usual..

we should win our group(B) with Wales, Russia and Slovakia in it. Then we'd likely play Rumania/N Ireland or Czech Rep. After that the quarter finals against probably Portugal or Belgium ..then it's semi finals against Spain...and meet France or Germany in the final. What's hard about that ?

Hart, clyne, smalling, Cahill, rose, drinkwater, Dier, Rooney, Alli, Kane, vardy.
Form players. Full backs push on. Vardy into the channels. Alli to run beyond Kane. Rooney can drop into midfield and find space.
Bench: Carroll, rashford, stones, noble, Townsend, Allbrighton.
No point trotting out the same old failed players again.

England manager is a job, not a vocation. He will go with the players with experience and that gives him the excuse should it go tits up.. He will say that some players need many more internationals to become first choice.. Its a tried and trusted method of not being held wholly responsible for our failures at big tournaments..
This season has unfortunately for roy, thrown up 3/4 players that the nation believes should start the games. He will be hard pressed not to selct them but I believe he will give it a right good go and Rooney, Sterling and Milner, etc will figure...
