Where did you think we would be with 6 games to go ? Yes we were shit today but who would have thought we would be anywhere near this position last August ? Lots to play for, stop being a fookin drama queen. Don't call me a drama queen! We were shit today, no fight, no passion, just a lackluster performance. I'm assuming you're one of the many who are just happy we'll still be playing championship football next season We were shit today I'll say it again, did you think we would be third with 6 games to go last August ? No you didn't so stop fookin moaning, were still in a great position and can still make it into the top division.

To be fair we can still make the top division but the way we are currently playing is a massive worry and on current evidence winning 3 games to acheive that aim could be a bit troublesome. The 3 losses against the relegation stragglers is a bit puzzling, we have become very inconsistent of late.

What gets me really angry is how some people haven't been blamed for this disgraceful result yesterday....
The kit man didn't put the shirts out properly and was really lazy in and around the dressing room.
The coach driver had a shocker and failed to 'park the bus'!
The grounds man really was poor too, I know we played away but somehow I want to blame him too the wage thief.
Grrrr

3-5-2
Will all teams deploy this system against us now, knowing that it upsets us?
To counter it, it seems we have to match them... and it's not our preferred system. Slightly worrying.

2-0 down, needing points to secure a play off position and all our sorry defence can do is pass the ball at the back between themselves culminating in the ball going back to Ward. We are in one of the best positions I have ever seen but we need to invent a Plan B.

Teams at the bottom at this stage will be shoring up their defence and keeping solid at the back. Then when you need your creative players to fashion an opening out of nothing, but our 2 main ones are out injured. Teams towards the top half at this stage will be more open and tend to attack more, meaning there is more space to work in and these creative players aren't as important, particularly when you have Mooy there in loads of space. Having Kasey and/or Izzy back will be a huge boost. It was pretty bad luck to have both of them out at the same time.

After a defeat on here, many people forget that you don't judge a team or a season, or what will happen at the end of that season, on a single game...
We are way ahead of where the club thought we might be at this point. "This is our best chance ever" etc. say some on here... No it's not, we're in a great position to move forward next season if we don't succeed this time around. If we can get some decent loanees, other signings in, we might actually be in an even better place than this 12 months from here...
If I really were a pessimist, another angle you might want to consider is that being promoted this yr might actually be a bad thing, as we might not be suitably developed as a squad to cope with the rigours of the PL. Imagine the meltdown on here if we were to go up and then straight back down with a massive bump...
I think some people seem more obsessed with their personal feuds with fans of this club and other clubs. I suppose I'm lucky that I don't have to work with Leeds/Wed fans etc. so it's not always as 'in your face' as it is for some.
If it is to be someone other than Town go up this season, as much as we'll get the WUM's on here if it were to be Leeds or Wed, the fact is, Yorkshire football needs a shot in the arm. I think we'll be very much a part of that re-birth process in due course...

I think we'll be very much a part of that re-birth process in due course... you dont judge as season on how much better you think it is than you orginally believed it might be... you play each game on its own merits.. we are in a good position, its no longer a dream or a wish, its happened and its still going on.. nothing has been secured as yet, nothing has been gained as yet its all work in progress. If you bull up that progress and interview Dave at great length after a win then the same in depth discussion takes place after a loss, especially a bad one with the same team from the other night looking totally lost and totally at odds with how we are 'supposed' to play.. Forest start at 100mph, isnt that 'playing' into our hands with our passing and moving tactics? ?? clearly not if we get pressed too hard.. I have no idea which Town team is turning up, I am not sure if we wait and see how aggressive or tough the opposition are going to be before we make up what we might try and do? We whine on when teams dont try to play against us and then we whine on and get over run when they do?? This is not a bonus season, its this season and cheap tickets and 'never had it so good' needs replacing now with some sort of hard edged expectation and attitude and approach from all at the club.. If we lose in the play offs and give it our best go then fair enough I will gladly take a great season and a huge step forward but we have to get there first and we have to make a good fist off it or its pointless. I can take being dissapointed when we give it a right go, I cant accept another Millwall or Old Trafford they were capitulations.. not happening again.. We still need to win some games, the very worst thing is not getting there..

Nor should we be relying on the possibility we might get some good loan players. That's not a gameplan or going forward it's a gamble.

the above bit of a rant is basically..
we cant play this part of the season as 'just happy to be here and we are the small 'dog' in the fight'...
If its meant to take any pressure off the 'lads' its certainly working well, they felt no pressure to do very much yesterday..
If you are in the 'fight' then you give it everything, every game and if you have any real 'belief' in what you are doing, this is when its needed to be shown..
I am worried that our 'underdog' attitude has gone way overboard and we end up making up the numbers..
To me that would stop this being a 'great season'...
I cant go back to August in my head and pretend that top 10 would have been great, its April and we are third and now is the time to start playing and acting as if we deserve it and are comfortable with it..
Being 'victims' of our own success comes with the territory..we either grow with it into the pointed end of the season or we will get mullered...

Just sat through the torturous highlights. Embarrassing! Defense was abysmal and no c*** had a clue what was going on! Don't tell me about being third in the league cos I've heard enough bullshit from people saying it's the best season since 72 and we should be chuffed. If you're happy with that then that's your bag but i want to see us in the top flight for the first time in my life. Fucking disgraceful performance!

That gamble has to be our gameplan because we aren't in a position to buy the standard of players to keep us near the top of the Championship. Our only alternative gameplan is Mid table mediocracy if we're lucky

Fine in theory - but Palmer and Brown were pretty well nullified by the teams that played defensive against us and left no space between defence and midfield. Not that Forest did that and I don't think play off teams will, apart from maybe Wendies if they get Forestieri back. Not to say that we don't need them back pronto.

Wagner has said they surprised us playing 3 at the back ? At least he is honest. We were just not good enough and they are fighting for their lives, we don't do well v teams like that, might be lack of mental hardness ?

I think there are one or two rival supporters, WUM, trolls call them what you will who like to come out and criticise the team when things go badly on this and other threads, occasional posters(specifically when we lose) with relatively low post counts, hey ho

The performance looked poor, but I am not going to complain about being third at this stage of the season. Playing sides fearing relegation this late on is always tough. Still 18 points to play for!

Don't need to be doom and gloom. Seen us get hammered by Forest before now. After the 2nd goal went in the team just gave up. A goal that was gifted to them. Wouldn't say Forest were great. But their fans clearly needed that win. Not a bad away day though. Sun out. Beer. Hooters with good looking female Town fans in there. I personally enjoyed the day out. Still plenty to play for. Over achieved this season already.
