I wonder if the same thing is true for restricting opportunities for younger players? Yeah that's also a huge problem! Not necessarily (IMO of course) due to the transfer window - but mainly because clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City hoard all the best youngsters most of whom will never get a game for them. At least though there's 25 players per squad plus youth teams etc compared with 1 manager per team. Is that a huge problem - the hoarding? If they are good enough they will come through, if not with Chelsea - then with someone else. Might not be the case this season - but I think last season some of the Chelsea young uns would have bust our salary structure.

Our window is is closed so no player can come in until next year unless they were free agents before the window closure. All players may move to a country where the window is still open.

Best tell them idiots at the Examiner then, cos they are still showing pics of Oliver Burke, and mention a few others, these items were probably printed before the window here closed. Typical out of date website. Idon,t know why I even thought it could be correct.Silly me

Maybe it's only a matter of time before all players, coaches , managers etc become self employed, and simply contract to provide a service as and when...to one or more clubs ? Can you see Wagner managing Town and (say) a smaller club like Leeds at the same time, and maybe one day a week at Halifax...or Mooy playing for us every other week while he plays for (say) Man City in between ? Would kill transfer market and give players/manager freedom to supply whoever they want... Sounds crazy, probably is crazy..but 'normal' businesses don't commit to only one customer for 3 years do they.. I suppose (in thinking about it) it sounds a bit like in the US american football where players are in a pool..not sure?

I'm just hopeful that in the next window we sign players we can spell! kerchunga lossel loew sibiri dupoitre moonie Don't think many on here have dared to have a go at Hadergjonaj yet, preferring to use Flo (or Flow, even)

Think you're right. It will be either or. My preference would be Mounie as he looks to have pace to stretch the opposition. I wouldn't bet on it. Cam I be a tWat and bump it? Yeah?

Can't help you I'm afraid but might you be able to help me settle a bar room discussion? Which Danny Ward will start more games this season ? I reckon it will be Danny "best town player in last 30 years " Ward , now in the prime years of his career and employed at championship club Cardiff He says it will be Danny " only plays in Carabao cup " Ward , currently at Liverpool You know more about me that these things .. any thoughts ?

If you're on about the £2m Danny Ward then let me tell you, from a Cardiff supporting friend of mine, that he has settled in well at Cardiff and scored a screamer against Fulham to earn a late draw 2 weeks ago. Do correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Cardiff doing ok this season? Just out of interest can you furnish me with a long list of other ex players that have commanded a £2m fee over the last 30 years or so?

We should have back then, ship sailed but he is a talent and I still think he's got more to give. Ted, I've missed the last two Wembley appearances, I did go to Old Trafford, so its probably best off I didn't go anyway....gutting yes, but I managed to watch a full replay without knowing the result a day later
