Good luck to him. Any player who played a part in our journey to the premier league will always be well thought of by me. Hope he does well. Scored a few important goals in that journey and yet one of those players who still split opinions. I'm with you, anyone who played a part in that life changing season will always be well thought of, surely? Far far better than some gave credit for.....but championship is his level and we got a great fee for him. Good luck to the lad.....we like he should now just move on.

Wouldn;t surprise me if he ends up back at the chickens eventually. Probably sooner than hed like in truth. I know technically he played higher at Burnley ( very briefly) but I think his time at Town will be the peak of his career. But hes had /having a good career ( apart from last season ) so you can;t knock him for that. Just don;t think he ever really kicked on from the player we bought out of League 1. Shame for him that hs time with us was the best of his times and probably the worst of his times. We effectively ended his upwards trajectory (yup I’m aware he continued upwards, but not really) by playing him as a lone striker, something he was never going to be any good at. I guess the intention / hope was that he and Vaughan would play as a two, but things sometimes don’t work out as planned.

Oh dear oh dear! He must be well chuffed with his agent and how things have worked out. This was all too predictable, although I did think he'd have ended up with a top half championship side. I think it's probably mission accomplished finance wise. It was always about the money obviously. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards Money money money 100% but it's driven by agents in most cases, I have nothing against the lad but I think his agent has stitched him up for self gain. There is no way I could go to work for someone else for, a few more quid more and sit doing fuck all for 5 days a week, it would drive me mental, meanwhile your skills deminish and you find it hard to get back to the top of your job.

I allways thought he always seen us as just a stepping stone for him to get into the prem. Which is fair enouth, but it looks like hes fallen into the pond. I recall the feeling was mutual. At the time of his signing, the club said they never expected him to see out his contract.

that cool penalty at wembley....will always remember it. You can stop this thread right now for me with this comment. 3-1 down in the pens at Wembley, up trots Nahki, fires one in, and trots off back to his mates who then see the job out ( add to that all his crucial goals in our promotion season ). If amongst all the pressure of the occasion, that had got to him, we would be still be plying our trade in the lower echelons - all the best lad, you deserve every success as far as I'm concerned.

And for all the talk of Quaner's involvement in the playoff equaliser at Hillsbrough - it would have come to nought if Nahki hadn't have been there to pressure the defender into a no win situation.
Earlier in that game he also put one on a plate for Izzy.
Good Luck Nahki (as with all that 16/17 promotion winning squad) you gave us all a season we will never forget.

At the time of his signing, the club said they never expected him to see out his contract. I think there's ample evidence that his agent messed with his football career, although maybe not his financial career. Don't good agents do both? Anyway, he comes on here, so can respond ........ Whatever, i wish him well, more than well actually, and yes that penalty was critical. I knew he was going to score though - he walked up to it like "I'm going to score here". EDIT: His agent that is comes on here, or used to.

just been talking on talksport about cup ! mistake letting him go ? Not sure if it was a mistake letting him go , and we will probably never know if he would have done better than our current strikers , I will always like Nahki though.

For his scrambled goal at Hillsborough plus two priceless playoff penalties he will always be a legend to me.

just been talking on talksport about cup ! mistake letting him go ? It's a bit like a fart Nick, better to let it go and disappear into the wind than hold on because that just creates internal problems.
