Strength in Numbers was an anthem years ago, still is tbh. Robert, lead vocals is in a Manchester group now The Six or summat. Aye great band and Harvey’s vocals were amazing. I still listen to Welcome to the North and Strength in Numbers albums regularly. Saw Kaiser Chiefs years ago at Leeds Uni but didn’t hear a single note as me and my mates who are also Town fans walked out as soon as the knuckle draggers in the crowd started singing that shite marching song that I can never remember the lyrics to. I remember this incident as a lucky escape from having to listen to that shite hawk Ricky Wilson! Not Leeds, but seen him there and it was absolute scenes, pyros the lot indoor, which is a tad naughty, but Gerry Cinnamon. His entrance is class, the cover of cheesy dance tune Discoland and Belter were appreciated highly. Probably for us younger lot, but his lyrics to his songs are proper Scottish, which I am and for that reason, he’s just class

Just basically a crowd going tits up and he has them eating out of his hand wherever he plays

Is it fuck. I’ve been in there a few times before Leeds v Town games and never even a hint of anything. Don’t think the bouncers even allow home shirts. It’s more a tourist pub if anything. Think you’re confusing it with one round the back (can’t remember it’s name) - there’s a bit of a clue cos that’s where the police vans usually are! it's a very nawty boozer Back in the day Scarborough, Prince of Wales and Spencer's might of been a bit dodgy for an away supporter. They've been done up and two of them have changed names now, absolutely fine to drink in. One of there main pubs from back then is now a gay bar. There's a few old pubs like Three legs, Regent, Duncan etc still about that are full of Alcys. But apart from that there isn't many pubs or bars in Leeds that I would advise not to go in.

Scarborough is a fine pub, was a bit rought late 70's early 80's tho Not sure what it’s called mate. Turn left out of The Scarborough and it’s just round the corner on the same side of the road. Walked past it before the 4-1 and there were lots of police vans so clearly one to avoid. Scarborough is good though, always a good choice for decent ale and safe as houses on match days.

Talking about shit bands and shit gigs. Did anyone else on here go to that shit gig/concert at the old leeds rd ground, probably around mid seventies? Now that was shit, and nowhere near as many turned up as expected.. Mud, Sweet sensation, and it got worse.. There was one decent band, but I can't remember their name.. Don't dis Les Gray and Mud . But yeah you're right no one turned up . Can you imagine 500 turning up at Take That the other night? Mud were nearly as big as Take That back in the day . And Sweet Sensation had just had a number one record. But no one was arsed. Interestingly there was a signpost put up coming out of farnley tyas which (maybe) was a tribute to that tour. It's still there today and says "MUD ON ROAD" . I always reminisce about Les and his tiger feet whenever I'm passing. ;-) I always think of the Viz cartoon with the Mud On Road sign and the band playing Tiger Feet just past it 🤣

Classic deflection behaviour.

I still listen to Welcome to the North and Strength in Numbers albums regularly. Saw them a couple of times in London whilst living down there; once at The Astoria (now unfortunately demolished to accommodate Crossrail) in 2004 which was a cracking gig; and then years later at The Roundhouse which was ok. Still like their track ‘Take the Long Road and Walk it’.

There's a few versions of that track but the original one is fucking brilliant.

Love how this thread has turned from Nicks persistent obsession into a music fest. He will be reading every article and searching the Leeds hashtag this week to get it back on track

2019/20 Premier League fixtures just been published. Try as I might, I can't seem to find Leeds in there. I thought that they had been promoted last Christmas...

I wonder how many Huddersfield fans will look for the Leeds fixture first when the Championship fixtures are released? Practically all of them.

You do realise you're posting this on a HTAFC forum which you'd need to create an account? Oh the irony..

You know, the one where you get your highest gate of the season but visiting fans don't get any extra tickets allocated, so we all know where all the extra thousands of fans come from - and who they come to see
