The beauty of Jack Clarke being sold is Leeds have yearly losses of £5-7Million. If they are getting £8.5-9M most of the cash is already gone settling last seasons losses so they have £3Million to spend/reinvest in their squad. That could well be taken up in loan fee's if they are trying to loan from Liverpool, City, Chelsea and the larger clubs. Than add the Bielsa's 2nd season syndrome (look up his club managers record, never at a club more than 2 seasons) where all his teams are less good in the 2nd year and they are looking good for a mid-table finish. What club do you know who settles their previous year's losses? Their losses are well within FFP, and are covered by an £11m injection from Radrizanni every year. Financially, Leeds have been well run for a while now (relative to football). Cellino turned 25m losses into small profits. In terms of commercial income, they blow every other championship club out of the water, and a lot of the prem clubs as well. Even with a net spend of over £10m, and wages of nearly £30m, they lost less than £5m in 18/19. My outside view of how Radrizzani runs their club is to try to balance the books. So even if he put personal wealth of £5-7Million to cover one seasons loss, he seems to recoup that money back out of the club. So I can see £5-7Million of the the Clarke deal being used to cover any club losses, as the Vieria sale did the previous season.

So I can see £5-7Million of the the Clarke deal being used to cover any club losses, as the Vieria sale did the previous season. If he was trying to balance the books they wouldn't have spent over £30m on players in 17/18. The Vieira sale allowed them to bring in Bamford. The Wood sale allowed them to bring in a whole host of players in 17/18 eg Forshaw, Jansson, Alioski etc. I really don't see logic in saying a player was sold to cover the previous year's losses, when they then continue to spend more for the current season. If that was the case, how would it work when he sells up? Because under the logic you said, he wouldn't have had the sale to cover the previous year. It makes much more sense to me for sales to allow spending, or cover it, in the current season to fit in with the year's budget.

Jansson is off by the looks of it. Attitude problems. Wouldn't have him if that's the case, and he wouldn't start regardless if Schindler and Kongolo were to stay. One of those strangely hyped players that I've never seen live up to the attention he gets.

Five and a half million English pounds? Wow. He was carried by Bartley the year before last, and made to look shit by Cooper this. Whoever pays that much will be stood with their pants round their ankles.

One of those strangely hyped players that I've never seen live up to the attention he gets. ...his attitude problem source being that he wants to win and tried to deny Villa the “fair play goal”. Sounds like the kind of attitude problem that any decent coach would want to work with? The odd thing about his hype is that it’s often that he’s a tough hard man, but he’s one of the softest hard men around. What I do like is he generally seems pretty composed when things are falling apart around him, easily good enough for a mid table Championship club with no aspirations beyond that. £5m to Brentford. That probably puts Zanka’s market value at about £2.2m max, given their similar age and international credentials, bearing in mind Zankas shorter current contract.

Think 5.5m is slightly too much I’d put him at about 3m.

Not giving the Transfermkt site to much credence, they have Jansson value at 5.4M and Zanka at 5.0M

Surprised he's off Brentford. Despite him being shite against us I thought they rated him.

Saw a leeds shirt in hebden today, wahls. Did you run the Heptonstall Festival Fell Race today by any chance?? It’s a toughie...(made tougher by covering 50miles in an ultra last weekend and a hard 10k in the sun on Wednesday I guess!)

Got talking to some Blackburn fans who said they were glad to playing Town again this coming season. One of em said he hadn't been over to Huddersfield for a few years, but would be this time because the spotted cow at Salendine Nook was one of his favorite pubs. I didn't like to piss on his bonfire..

Mind you, if you left 'em a flask there they'd have something to eat...

Saw a leeds shirt in hebden today, wahls. Nicholas, last week I was in Poole, Dorset, to catch the ferry and I saw a grown man wearing a Beeston shirt, the difference being that while I thought to myself "Dirty Leeds bastard" that was the end of it, quite why you feel the need to post your sighting on DATM is beyond me and yes I get the irony that I've now done the same with you. The following day in Saint Hellier I saw a teenage boy in a Barcelona shirt and a girl wearing a Man. United shirt as well if that helps your survey ? I'm sure I'll see lots of other replica football, cricket and rugby shirts being worn by various members of the public as the days go by but I'll leave those for other people to report if that's ok ?

We should be able to match that offer, I'd take him. He's a decent player and it would make Leeds weaker.
