Heart, grit and desire shown by one Yorkshire team this weekend (Barnsley)... and a lack of it shown by another (Leeds). Yet failure was the result for both. It’s a funny old game.

I hope Sam Allardyce stays on with them, after yesterdays showing, he will never get a tune out of that lot, especially with 10 of them jumping ship. Seems like his master plan was to simply change the goalkeeper and chew lots of gum,,he's a genius

On M621; just passing that Championship ground 😉 I always had a bit of a personal tradition of sticking up 2 fingers whenever I drove past there but have decided that I need to lose the anger, so now I just laugh.

When we were relegated out of the Prem, I pretty much had a 'good while it lasted' view of things. I've seen us relegated enough times going back to the 70s & can't ever remember thinking that we didn't deserve it or were too big to be in division whatever. Nor that I should expect much more than a mid-table finish in our new division. But what seeps out of a lot of this is that whole concept of them naturally belonging in the Prem. That's despite the fact that over the last 20 years, they have spent precisely the same amount of time in the 3rd tier as the 1st and have spent more time outside the top flight than in it over the last 40 years. It was taken for granted by loads of Leeds fans I knew that they were going to be at least a top 10 club from the point they were promoted, & expected to be knocking on the Champions League door soon after. They never really entertained the possibility that without a sugar daddy (who interestingly never appeared) they were always going to be lucky to avoid the bottom 3.
It looks anyway that the 49ers have significantly dropped their valuation of the club to complete the takeover. Whether Radrizzani accepts that or not remains to be seen, but it's hard not to read into the ongoing speculation that they might struggle to have the finances to be an obvious promotion contender. At worst, particularly if this drags on, mid-table could be an achievement for them. And having witnessed the scenes after Sunday's game, if I were a top-end Championship player with choices about where I might want to play, Elland Rd would be well down my list.

When I worked in Leeds (most of the 90s), I used to take the exit before that tip on the M621 so I didn’t have to see it and added about 15 minutes, and no little hassle, on to my journey.

If I was a pro footballer and saw the images over the weekend, the abuse and vitriol aimed at most of the players I'd certainly double my wage request to play in front of those wankers every week. The funniest thing was the cheers for Dallas and Ayling after the abuse everyone else got. As if they had nothing to do with the shit performances all season. On one of the Twitter videos posted on this thread, there's even a bit of cheering for Bamford. He solely contributed to dropping points by taking some god-awful pens that I'D have been embarrassed about and I'm shit at football.

I've no idea, just made me laugh that they were jeering/booing, then suddenly changed to cheers for members of the same shit squad

I told my kids when they were very young to never, ever look at er as we went passed for fear of the image burning their eyes out. Seems to have worked as they both have perfect 20/20 vision.

I have also had to teach my boys the tradition of a finger or two directed as we pass…which now living in Morley is quite often!!
My lad has an U13 Cup Final there tonight and was delighted to hear we’d been drawn as the Away Team so not in Home Dressing Room.
Adamant he’s taking his Town Top - I’ll be happy to pay the £12 fine if he picks up a booking for revealing it 😂

On M621; just passing that Championship ground 😉 Can I amend one letter (the last one) in the hope that that it becomes a Championshit ground next season - in the sure and certain hope that they have a shit Championship season and are relegated to the third tier... Three ‘tiers’ for that scenario to prevail for sure ! 😊

In the past , I've always flicked the V's when passing Bellend rd . But after passing for the first time with the wife to be , I thought best not , she may find it a bit childish and immature . Then low and behold , she did it . So now it's the norm , and I've even been known to go out of my way just to pass the skip..

I'd love it if all that caused the 49ers to pull out of the sale completely. AND bin off their existing shares. Then force the fuckers into admin, getting an immediate 12 point deduction.
