So you don't find it funny, plenty do. Really? It’s not in the least bit funny. Simpleton humour at best laid over people’s immense suffering and grief. Pretty detestable really, but hey, we can start having a go at Hillsborough victims or the Bradford fire if those are our standards now.

Humour and offence are subjective.
Dark humour is a way that society copes with unmitigably awful things - like the murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
Nobody who would tell an Ian Huntley joke actually finds the murders of two children funny.

Careful G, last time someone posted that gag somebody got a bit uppity. It may even have been you that posted it last time Tasteful, tell that story of Huntley to your daughters & granddaughters, tell them the story, as your putting them to bed! Why quote me, I didn't tell the joke? I have in the past though, try getting offended by jokes growing up surrounded by squaddies, you soon stop being offended

Never laughed at ANYTHING someone else might find upsetting, say fat jokes, blond jokes, never called anyone four-eyes. Glass houses have never been so safe!

There was one about Hillsborough that I've always remembered too

I'll be honest, I often 'filter' some of the stuff I get on whatsapp, deciding which of my contact list they may not be suitable for.

This 100% Some of the stuff I get sent I won't send to SOME people I know will get upset by it. Rarely have to censor stuff I send to ex and current squaddies. And if I censored owt to my mam and dad they'd bollock me for it

living out of West Yorkshire at the moment (thanks divorce) so I'm isolated from the information down here, bar what I see on't internet. However when I get into work (in Leeds) I'm hearing some concerning noise from Leeds fans at work. They are concerned (rightly) that the guy who has sold off both their ground and training ground has fallen out with the Yanks. He could (if pushed) prevent them from using either. It's a terrible situation for them to be in.

Dad and sis are both well pissed off, saying they've swapped one dodgy Italian for another and they're of the belief that the Yanks may even pull out of completing the takeover AND look to get shut of the current shares they own. I'd be devastated for them

I thought that the current owner owned the ground, hence the story about him borrowing money against it to buy Sampdoria? Or does he own it through a separate company?

Find the dodgiest ownership situation and that's likely theirs

Either way, it appears that after a short intermission, the 'gift that keeps on giving' is making a welcome return

well technically they now belong to whoever the Itallian borrowed his money from. He did own the ground. There is a clause in the original deal which states the Ground goes back into Council ownership should Leeds go into admin, not sure how that works now.

He didn't actually use Elland Road as a guarantee though did he - it was just an option that was explored. There are no relevant charges held over Elland Road other than the one outstanding from the 49ers from a couple of years ago >> find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13073395

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65863200Another US owned club then. Interesting that the supporters club gave the current Chairman both barrels, obviously forgetting that he was the same one that got them to the PL in the first place. Seems strangely familiar…. 😉😉

So are they paying £170m for about half the club they don’t own already valuing the club at about £340m. If that’s right it sounds an awful lot of perceived value for a Championship club.

The Athletic article says it’s an overall valuation of £170m so they only paid 55% of that. Seems more like it.
It’s good news for Leeds but they have a hell of a lot of rebuilding to do.

Bit of talk on Radio Clyde hourly news earlier about Brendan Rodgers being favourite for a sensational return and odds on favourite to be re installed as The ‘new’ Celtic manager at Parkhead...
Then in the queue at Tesco Oban tonight two Celtic supporters in front of me talking about The Sun reporting that Leeds are gonna hijack the plans and out muscle Celtic for his services instead... ( I assume this is The Scottish Sun as the edition in England and Wales won’t have too many column inches dedicated to Celtic or Leeds) -
Rodgers would be insane to rock up at Leeds over Celtic I’d say - Now The Championship is the best League in the planet in my opinion - competitive, ruthless, dramatic, unforgiving, anyone can beat anyone each week, but Leeds United - come on !
All Rodgers needs to do for eternal adoration in Scotland is stay ahead of Rangers and he managed that easily last time around by winning the 7 outta 7 domestic competitions he was there for - plus he’s garaunteed six games in The Championship League groups although for four of them Celtic will just be cannon fodder for wealthier teams...
I presume that if these lads were speaking the truth that it’s just The Scottish Sun hyping up Hoops fans - well those who would be illiterate enough to finiancially support The Main Stream Scottish Media by buying these rags these days (I stopped when Page 3 full on stopped) ! - They are instutional and pathological liars in Scotland regarding football (or were - and a leapord never changes it’s spots after all)...
But Brendan Rodgers at Leeds United - Jesus If it happens I’ll jog around the loop to the shop here in Connel in the scud - That’s how confident I am off it not happening... (Although I’m sure he would enjoy the lovely experience of his trip to England’s finest town of Huddersfield ! 😊

LEEDS defender Robin Koch is BANNED from playing in the Championship next season, according to reports.
The German centre-back, 26, has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Elland Road on a free this summer following their relegation to the second tier.
But if that isn't enough to ensure his exit, Bild understands his deal also contains a stipulation that he is not allowed to play in the Championship.
Koch joined Leeds from Freiburg after their promotion to the Premier League in 2020.
He has made 77 appearances for the Yorkshire side, helping them to a ninth-place finish in their first season back in the top flight.
