Lossl smith zanka schindler lowe hogg mooy Colin Ince VLP depoitre williams mounie lolly malone coleman palmer cranie This game is a MUST win. (I can't believe we got 4 pts away at Watford and Soton, greatness) You don't get a "must win" game halfway through the season. But you do get mustn’t lose games. Brighton was one such game - dread to think where we’d be now if we had lost that one.

A defeat v Chelsea would have been 6 on the bounce. Questions would have been asked - many of them on here!? 17th is my best guess and sinking fast.

We hadn't won on the road since the opening day either but you wouldn't think that watching the Watford match last week.

I have no problem with Mounie starting as long as FloJo starts too as he is the only player who consistently delivers a threatening ball into the box

Here is a real left field suggestion for y'all. Wagner will make his team selection based on fitness, attitude, and what he has seen in training.
For example, Lolley came off the bench at Southampton, and not Palmer. Who would have predicted that a few weeks ago?

Mounie will definitely play on Boxing Day with the big Belgian on the bench. I suspect Lolly will feature at some point too. This is all good management from King David who can see the benefit in giving minutes on the pitch to squad players. It at the very least gives them the moniker of 'Premier League' player and increases their value in the crazy, inflated British transfer market. I say this because you never know Rangers or Celtic might want to purchase such players at very good prices to appease their fans. I can just see the headlines as Lolly joins Rangers for £5 million and they try to justify it by describing him as a proven 'Premier League' striker. While Town pocket the cash and King David spends £1.5 million on another Depoitre or Schindler.

Hogg in for Williams Lowe in for malone Smith for Flo. Unsure about no 9. Whoever starts tomoz will be on bench sat. Think we will go at em from the off.. Comfortable win 3-0 Ince to score...finally Merry Christmas terriers 😁

Need to decide whether to bring Depoitre into my fantasy team! cheers

Would agree I'd start Flo if Mounie gets the nod.

Don’t see why Flo should be left out other than to keep the side fresh. For me, his overall play has been better than Tommy’s. Nice assist from Tommy on Saturday, mind. Flo has an equally good cross on him though. I’d go Flo. I know smiths assist was a decent cross but Flo showed that he can put dangerous balls in consistently. I’d go FLO too.

The answer to everything discussed could arguabley be “DW knows what he is doing and will do X,YZ etc..”

Lossl
Smith Zanka Schindler Lowe
Williams Hogg
RVLP Palmer Quaner
Mounie
I know people will tear this to shreds but I'm naming this squad only with rest in mind. We have another game in a couple of days later and another one shortly after that.
I do think Depotrie should carry on in the team but I'd like him rested for Burnley, they are a bigger test than Stoke. Ince and Mooy surely need a rest?
When it comes to Zanka and Schindler, we can't afford to not have them in the team.

Not at his best on Saturday and we need him firing!

Mooy will not be rested against Stoke, and cannot see Palmer starting, will be surprised if he's in the 18 unless we have no other players, imo.

Except for Smith who crossed for the equaliser on Saturday. Yes he did, but notice I said consistently. Smith can deliver consistent quality yet this season imo & tbh we need as many players with half a chance at delivering quality as we can get- another reason to see if Flo can play left back from where he delivered that beauty for LDP against Chelsea. Smith and Flo coming into form could be just the job.

Mooy will not be rested against Stoke, and cannot see Palmer starting, will be surprised if he's in the 18 unless we have no other players, imo. I named him purely because with the games coming thick and fast, we kind of need to share the workload. If he doesn't start, he may play a half. I see Burnley as the harder test for town, I feel we need the "better" players rested for it.

Smith and Flo coming into form could be just the job. Flo was excellent against Southampton - whipped a couple of really difficult, belting crosses in on the run - bright and intelligent when his options got closed off down the wing - he'd always go inside rather than backwards and was constantly looking to play a forward ball to feet - exactly the opposite of what Smith does when things get a bit limited in front of him, always going back to his keeper or centre halves. I disagree that Smith delivers consistent quality - he's had the odd decent game but continually looks limited when he has the ball and is forever turning back - the sign of a player who has his head down trying not to make a mistake rather than up, confident and looking to create things. Fair play to Smith though - he comes on and goes and sticks one right on Laurent's head - I'm not saying he's shit, he's decent back up - it's just that I've seen enough of Flo to be convinced he's much better.

Lossl Smith Zanka Schindler Malone Mooy Hogg Collin Ince VLP Depoitre
Lolley unlucky after an excellent cameo at Saints
Don’t make Collin mark their dangerman from set pieces
Stoke will be a threat physically so Depoitre will need to be big and strong.
Hogg can sit on Shaqiri to keep him quiet.
