Tough game ahead. They have got the form and potential to win, but I think it'll be another draw. Over the last 6 games we've both taken 8 points W2 D2 L2:Town GD+1 (9-8), Burnley GD-2(4-6) which favours the draw even more.

Are we allowed to clap Arfield's name read out before KO? Scored his penalty in the play off final, deserves a clap for that.

Come 1700 we could be 9 points clear of the drop zone going into 2018. Just 15 more points to go. Theres nothing better than a good old relegation battle IMO.

Lossl Flo Zanka Schindler Malone Williams Mooy Collin Ince VLP Mounié
I expect us to control possession today whilst they sit deep and play on the counter.
Full backs to push on
Williams to have a bit more vision in midfield than Hogg
Mounié to have a bit more movement and pacher’s instinct up top than Depoitre
Collin to unleash hell for 90 minutes solid!!

Also, this could be very much ‘after the Lord Mayor’s show’ for them. After the effort of drawing at Old Trafford they need to pick themselves up for a much ‘lesser’ fixture. With Wood, Tarkowski, Brady and their main keeper out they probably haven’t got the depth they’d like to freshen things up. It will be a tough match but if we go at them hammer and tongs I can see us winning. They don’t score many so keep it tight and no stupid fouls around the box. Scoring first will be a great help.

How are we going to play the squad rotation.
Mounie today or monday? Has lolley done enough to start? Could we see palmer or sabiri today? Hefele back on the bench?
There will definately be rotation with 2 games in 2 days.
malone, williams, hadajonaj, lolley, mounie, palmer/sabiri could all come in over next two games.
Are we targetting this one for 3 points or monday? likely both but 3 points in next 2 games would be a decent return.

I used to think Williams had more about him in possession than Hogg, but i've realised this season that I was way off the mark. Williams is a better runner with the ball and can strike through it, but Hogg actually has more composure and vision. I also think some of the comments about Mounie are daft overreactions- he looks quite a smart player and that has shown in some clever link up play in tight situations. However (again 😉) i'd have to disagree and go for Depoitre who is in such good form, able to receive/control the ball better when under pressure and probably fresher.

He gone from everyones favourite hard worker to been a complete ball winning midfielder.

I'm all for being respectful to our ex players but it pisses me off when they get a far better reception than some of our current ones. Exactly, and why applaud Kane off his goals sunk us ?? I applauded him because he played very well and twatted us. I also applaud if the opposition goalie makes a good save or they score a top goal. This is because I haven't lost perspective and love to see top sports people doing exceptional things.

He gone from everyones favourite hard worker to been a complete ball winning midfielder. Most definitely agree with this. Last few games i've seen Hogg attempt more attacking passes - he still likes to retain possession where needed, but if he sees an opportunity to play an incisive forward pass, he'll try and take it. It's making him into a more mobile midfielder. Also, his goal against Barnsley last year showed that if he does get into the box, he can finish. His forte is still to protect that back four and instigate the majority of our passing, though.

I dont give the enemy , in his sight or hearing, any encouragement.. because its not a smart thing to do..

However (again 😉) i'd have to disagree and go for Depoitre who is in such good form, able to receive/control the ball better when under pressure and probably fresher. From what I've seen Mounie and Depoitre are different types of players. Depoitre a genuine target man, whereas Mounie whilst good in the air doesn't have the strength to be a genuine out ball option. Mounie does far less in terms of coming towards the ball with his back to goal, instead he looks for balls over the top/into the spaces behind the back four so a different type of outball is required for him. I lost count of the times he span off the shoulder of his defender against Stoke, only for the ball not to be played to him. I love Depoitre, absolute beast of a player who would be awful to play against and the better option right now. But I think Mounie will come good once we have learned to play to his strengths too and we'll get more from him in general play. His injury didn't help in that respect. Great to have two dangerous options who offer different problems for the opposition. In summary, it's wrong to judge Mounie for not being Depoitre Mk2, and that's not we need anyway.

I really hope we will always extend a warm welcome to former players, even the ones that have behaved like a Jack Hunt.

not clapping any 'opponent' today.. wont boo out of hand either..
we dont 'owe' any ex players anything.. if they have left the club in total they were paid up and left.. once they stop playing they may receive a warm welcome back..
dont encourage the opposition by applauding or winding them up seems to be the best approach?

Trying to wind up an opponent is a bad move. Remember Leeds fans with their Nahki Wells chant? We all know who had the last laugh there.

BBC build up has the fact that Burnley have made just 17 changes to their starting line-up in the Premier League this season, at least 12 fewer than any other side. I was hoping that with Tarkowski out they would struggle to keep the solidity they have had all season. They have conceded 5 goals in the first 2 games without him; compared to 12 in 18 before. Although the 2 games were Spurs and Man United it is encouraging. I like Burnley and Dyche a lot, but with Wood (hopefully) still out, then as good a chance to win as any match.
