I nearly resurrected a Tom Ince thread a couple of days ago.
Okay, his goals scored were less than we were hoping for, you know what though. We are missing him.

He will be a massive miss unless our new wingers do the business. If not this season's squad will be significantly weaker bearing in mind he always contributed well even if not pulling up trees. Seems the rot is truly set in at Stoke.. awful result for them this evening. Ince aside it is an uninspiring squad, some good players but no real style of play.. I’m not convinced Rowett is the right man for them. I can see it being ended quickly. The stoke hierarchy don’t seem to be able to pick a manager. A relegated premier league squad then they get a championship manager in. They needed a higher profile man like Lampard. Leeds went and got Bielsa. More creative thinking was required imo. They like to stick with British managers though, don't they? Who was in charge before Pulis? I've no idea.... I see Pulis is getting the dogs abuse at Boro despite them been joint top. Oh dear, will football fans ever learn ? Stoke and WBA fans didn't heed the 'be careful what you wish for' warnings....

Who would he have played in place of in our opening two games? Or do you think DW would have changed his tactics if Ince was in the squad? He didn't play in either game against the same opposition at the end of last season, we didn't miss him then, why would that be different this season?

True but are things changing a little with fans demanding to see good football not just results. The era for pulis and even mourinho May be coming to an end in favour of all out attack coming from pep & klopp. Not hard when all your players are ten times better than their opponents though.

I'm not convinced that we're missing him at all. It's too early to say whether Mbenza, Diakhaby & Sobhi are any good or not, but even if it turns out that none of them are fit to lace Ince's boots, that would just mean that they're not good enough for where we want to be either. Ince was a hard worker but not much else. He was part of the problem of us being unable to unlock PL defences & if he was still in the side, he'd still be part of that problem.
2 games in, 2 games we chose not to play with wingers & we're missing a winger? Nope. Not convinced.

Ey come on, that's not true - instead of making the keeper work, he'd have kicked it straight over the bar...

We haven’t played wingers and Pritchard is without doubt the better player in the number 10 role, so how have we missed him?
