Leicester would be a sideways move. Their title winning season was a total freak and that side is now gradually breaking up. They'll be right back to where they were before next season- lower table looking over their shoulders at the relegation battle. Pretty much where Town will be provided we stay up.
Unless something out of the ordinary happens, such as the link with Chelsea a couple of weeks ago, theres only one EPL club we have to worry about losing Wagner to if we stay up, and thats Everton IMO.

I've always suspected that West Ham will be Wagner's next club and they are a much bigger basket case of a club than Leicester.

Read a few comments after an article and they seem to want Rafa.
One comment also touches on boards not listening to the fans. Yeah, i'm sure they'd have won the league for you doing that!

Leicester after Wagner, eh? Well, I'm after a threesome with Holly Willoughby and Frankie Bridge. I reckon mine has more chance of happening. are you in contact with Holly and Frankie?....or is this a wind up ?...

I’d heard from a pretty reliable source last summer that DW would be off to WH this summer almost irrespective of what season we had. Then a fortnight back the same source said he will be staying assuming we are still a Premier League club. Make of it what you will.

That your source isn't reliable as on two different occasions he has told you different things? It's all a bit premature really. I think if we stay up, then he will stay unless a top half table big club comes in for him. If we go down, then yes, I could see him moving on No info used in this, just my own opinion

I hope I'm not tempting fate, but from everything I ever hear Wagner saying, his aspiration is to be an established PL manager, & as long as that's something we can offer him, & the club remains stable, supportive, & progressive, he'll stay.
You only have to look at the respect the likes of Guardiola & Mourinho have shown him to think why the hell would he risk that now for a toxic job somewhere. Even if we drop like a stone next year, he can leave (if he wants) looking like a miracle worker.

Ican well understand people saying he would go to this club but not to that club but the bottom line is it will be sorted one way or another when this season is over and only David Wagner will decide albet with Dean hoyle about what he wants to do.lets get these next six days over and then I am sure they will discuss everything whatever the division

Can't see Wagner going if we stay up. I can see Puel leaving Leicester though. Talk is he's not the nicest character to work with and once they were pretty sure of Prem football again the team have all but downed tools, their form over last month or so has been shocking. It looks like the players don't want him around.

The Leicester job is a joke. They'll be selling their best players this summer. Stay well clear Dave.

He'll want a club who will give him chance to build a project Ideally he'll also want a freehand to really alter all footballing aspects at the club - like he has here Leicester sacked Ranieri months after he won them the title. Puel would be getting sacked despite a good league position because as well as results they also want champagne football ...all delivered inside 9 months and with another managers squad He may go but I think he needs a big club In a prolonged lull, with a patient owner and fans with realistic expectations As others have said Everton would seem a better fit We are crying out for someone to take the club by the scruff of the neck and rebuild it. It was incredibly sad that we sacked Ranieri, I can appreciate that to many it looked harsh from the outside, but you really have to know what was going on in and around the club to understand it. Ditto Craig Shakespeare and ditto Puel. Ranieri his first season, kept all of Pearson's team, kept the same training etc etc. We were proud of what Pearson built and wanted a manager to embrace it, which he did. The summer after he won the league, he was given the chance to change things how he wanted it... things crumbled rapidly the more influence he had over the club sadly. He "tinkered" with a formulae that was working perfectly and paid the price, with us dropping into the bottom three and looking nailed on to go down. With Shakespeare, it became obvious very quickly that he wasn't management material. Puel had a good start, but the last 20 games have been absolutely horrific. We've gone from a team playing with energy and purpose, to a team playing slow sideways balls. Barely getting a kick on goal and getting done over by pretty much everyone. Average would have been enough to keep him in a job, but it's not even close. We don't expect champagne football, we didn't win the league with that, we've never really been known for that. We don't expect to be a top 4 club. All people want is a bit of entertainment, but this is a dull as I can ever remember. We were rock bottom under Pearson for nearly a whole season and it was more exciting. The owners might seem harsh, but they are only coming across like that because they have just chosen too many of the wrong men. If anyone comes in with a grand plan and can provide a few short term results, the owners will back them. We went through some awful runs with Pearson but they backed him all the time as they believed in what he was doing, despite poor results. We're likely to have £60m plus budget in the summer, possibly a lot more depending on what Mahrez goes for and depending on who else we shift out. We have a new £80m training complex in the pipeline and a stadium expansion. It's a fantastic project for the right person, whoever that might be.

All I know is that Wagner was our first choice last summer and he said no at the time as he didn't want to leave you after just getting promoted.

Bit of poisoned chalice at Leicester after the title victory. Want away players with the best already gone. We’re building at town. It would take a bigger club to tempt him away, no disrespect to leiscester who I suppose are a bigger club in recent history but really they’re not so much bigger from a foreigners perspective.
Another strong season at Town and he could be in line for a top 6 job, hats how good he can be.

Dean Hoyle was labelled as a hire and fire chairman but eventually he got the right man in Wagner and backed him fully. If what foxedup says is correct, then I could see Wagner and Leicester being a good match for each other. Leicester is the next level of club before the really big teams and a chance for Wagner to progress; after all if he keeps us up, there is not a lot more he could do at Town - every year would be relegation battles at best. Wagner would leave Town as a hero and would certainly have my blessing. I could also see one or two following him too: Schindler, Mooy, even Kongolo possibly. As for his replacement - well, Nigel Pearson did a good job at Leicester.

Leicester are on the slide. Doing a great job there would be just keeping them where they are in mid table as they lose their better players. But expectation levels are high after their recent success, both with the fans and the owners. Its one thing getting a lot of money for these players like Mahrez, maguire, vardy etc but bringing in replacements who are as good is a different matter. Ask Southampton.
*IF* we stay up then Town are going the other way. the extra 5 or 6000 fans they get isn;t going to make Leicester 'big' enough to make it worthwhile making the switch for wagner IMO. To ditch his forward momentum project here under a chairman he has a close relationship with to try and stop the backwards slide at a club like Leicester?? Just can't see why hed do that. hed be no nearer managing at the very top level IMO, which is probably his ambition.

If everton got wagner, we could do a lot worse than have Allardyce IMO. We could, but we made an appointment out of left field because appointing the same old faces from the English managerial merry-go-round got us nowhere. I couldn't see us going back to the merry-go-round for whoever takes over the reigns from Wagner.

Would you want to manage a bunch of prima donnas who down tools every time the manager asks them to do something different? Anyone who takes that group of players on is going to have to break them up before they can manage them. Horrible job for whoever takes it in my opinion.

When wagner goes, we'll sink like a stone. He'll take the whole attitude and positive momentum with him.
Naturally he'll have my full blessing because could genuinely go on to fantastic and wonderful things.
It'll be a sad day.

If ever a manager got close to actually guaranteeing you wouldn;t go down, its big Sam. And whether its under wagner of anyone else, the target next season will be still avoiding the drop. Might not be pretty ( but being honest it hasn't been this season for the most part either ) but we could be pretty confident we'd not go down, or even be in the scrap we currently are.
