Now survival is confirmed lets get the dreaded thread on down at the mac under way, see how many pages of dross it can spill across this year.
Have fun and keep the arguing to a minimum!
Ins:
Winger A number 10 to compete with Pritchard Kongolo (if possible) Left Back Centre Back Striker (we've struggled sometimes this season as our two strikers are very similar a plan B would be nice)
Outs:
Whitehead Malone Sabiri (loan) Quaner
Nothing against any of the outs, but if we are to be competitive we need to build on what we have and sign quality.

Two widemen and Kongolo will do me assuming we don't lose anyone of note.

Pinned.
Agree with your assessment too. would add won't be gutted if RVLP goes, so long as we get an improvement.

I think if we are to play the set up we just have then a more established wing back is needed for the right side, or if Flo/Smith have that covered then another central midfielder to compliment (not say nice things Hogg and Mooy in addition to Williams. 2 wide players. Maybe Scanz will leave too. A back up 10, would give Izzy a go.

Agree with the outs but i think Wagner will keep Malone around..
Kongolo is a must if we can, but it has to be about wingers wingers wingers.....
Ince/VLP/Quaner just not up to it. Kachunga been too injured to judge.
The only name i can think of that i'd like to see would be Tammy Abraham as a different striking option......

I'd keep Malone but to add to the outs...
One of Coleman or Green (probably the latter, maybe coaching?) Stankovic & Hefele (admittedly not had a chance this year but they were bought in for championship football and we will need better, maybe keep Heff) Scannell Payne (reluctantly)
Possibly Kachunga too.

When you consider we got Depoitre, Zanka & Schindler for less than £10m it’s crazy. Chelsea’s right back Rudiger was £30m+ and pony! Looking Forward to which gems we get this summer that I’ve never heard of!!

I forget we still had Scannell at the club. Poor footballer at Championship level, never mind Premier League

I wouldn't be surprised to see Izzy come back tbh. Good point - we need to use our British loans more effectively next season. ive always liked Lookman the lad who was at Charlton, went to Everton but is on loan (and scoring) in the Bundesleague.

At the risk of being a bit of a killjoy I think we should just leave it for a few weeks to all calm down! Assuming DW stays he has already stated he wants the bulk of business done as soon as practicable to mould the revised squad into what he wants - not sure re incomings, as I think much will be overseas based on cost grounds, however exits I would expect:-
Scannell Payne Coleman or Green Hefele - not going to be a starter and deserves better than a bit part role if he wants to go. Whitehead
In addition maybe some loans for the likes of Sabiri, Williams, Stankovic.

Creative players are surely the priority (along with Kongolo).

Hiya! This is my first post. I very much like the look of Lookman - he's at RB Leipzig and has been banging them in recently, with a handy brace of goals in a 4-1 drubbing of Wolfsburg. I actually thought the very same earlier today - he'd be an excellent signing for us. My wishlist would be: -Kongolo -Another defender if we don't get Kongolo -A winger (preferably Lookman or someone else from the Bundesliga) -A no. 10 -A striker who can be a reliable goalscorer for us

Who is out of contract this summer? Rob Green and Dean Whitehead. Also Terence Kongolo, though hopefully we can sign him again. Green does have an option to stay on for another year, though he has not accepted it yet.

I think the last couple of games have clouded people's judgement of just how short we have looked at this level in a lot of games. 20 matches we haven't scored in, we won't be as fortunate next season if that happens again
It's not nice but it's the reality of the situation and if we want to progress then we need better players than:
Smith Lowe Ince VLP Malone Quaner Sabiri Billing Scannell Stankovic Hefele
Some of those could still get by as squad players but we can't afford to be starting them too often. Lowe and Smith have been awesome in the last two games but it's a different story in a 4 at the back in games we have to win

First time the window is closing early as well this season, but only for England (or UK) - which means European clubs will have more leverage re fees - i.e. pay what we want, or we won't sell him to you. Add to that the World Cup meaning some of the movement that normally sets off chains of transfers will be delayed, and I suspect we're all in for a frustrating time to begin with, with little or no news or action happening, and then a frantic few weeks after the World Cup finishes to work out who is available and affordable, and then rushing to get things done.
Of course, we'll do our usual trick of waiting till deadline day, trying to play hardball, failing and starting the season woefully short (and then repeating in January).

Going to make it hard to bring in foreign talent IMO, or at least for reasonable fees, and I wouldn't expect many English clubs to be selling after 9 August, as unless they have already replaced them, it would leave them short until January.

We'll do you a straight swap of Zaha for Van La Parra. We might even throw Collin Quaner in too to sweeten the deal
