Over the moon best thing to happen to us since I arrived at Leeds road in April 1993 and became a fan! Maybe not the last bit

Thought this was a story about Wagner talking to the hard of hearing.

Hope its true ( need it announcing on the club website asap ).
A contract is what it is though in football. Its a commitment of 'intent', no more than that. As we constantly see, a contract becomes largely meaningless if either party, club or manager, suddenly decide they have a better option. The only difference a contract really makes is the level of compo involved.
But you do get the feeling with wagner that he is far more likely than most to see a contract hes signed as something he is obliged to fulfil. That once hes committed to something, he will see it through. Believe that was his attitude to his degree when he could have walked away for a job with Klopp mid-studies.

So does this mean another year of 9 men behind the ball and hoping for a draw in 50% of the home games?

No, just a pragmatic Town fan.... just what are we going to win next year? What are we going for? Just to make more money and being able to, mostly, loose against the top half teams ebven at home... bugger me a 0-0 draw is considered a victory...boring... Put the shutters up...boring. Eventually, even the keenest fan, will get pissed off with winning bugger all in the Premiership and want us to go all out, risk the lot, and try for Europe. And then what.

Do you seriously believe that we will not make ANY attempt to strengthen our team? To add creative players? With pace? Even the most negative fan must realise that this is the way forward for the club and will certainly be the route that we will go on. Jeez...

I could agree with you on this if we had been in a Stoke situation of 10 years of largely nothing to play for- but to feel like this after just one season, just a few weeks after securing safety, and after 45 years of lower league football, (if you actually are a town fan) then I feel sorry for you I'm afraid

In games against the big teams we’ll be very defensive again - the alternative is getting totally overrun Against teams like Watford (beat 4-1), Palace (beat 3-0) and Bournemouth beat (4-1) we can try and be more positive We generally lacked quality in the final third last year – hence the number of of nils. If we get some better wingers in this summer we should have a bit more of an edge In terms of where we’re going it’s always survival but hopefully a cup run. If Stoke and Hull can make an FA Cup Final, Wigan win it and Swansea win the League Cup it’s not totally impossible we can go far in a competition

The real truth is that Leeds are, in the minds of many of those outside of Yorkshire, actually Yorkshires biggest team. Ask any supporters of the top premiership clubs who they want back in the Premiership and the majority, especially among older supporters, will say Leeds. Every body likes to beat Leeds Read more: downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/109616/deluded-leeds?page=6#ixzz5G7ys50tP

Next season we, after Cardiff, are favorites for the drop. So, once again we'll be seeing boring 0-0 ers against the top 14 clubs at home as a'victory'... Eventually this 'staying in the Premiership at all costs will bore the shit out of us all' \I bet even Leeds have a more exciting time next year (at least until Feb when they yet again realise they can't challenge for promotion).
Role on the top 4 in the Premiership buggering off to a European league.

Anyway, fantastic news about Wagner if true. Him staying, even just for another year, gives us the chance to stabilise in the Prem and further instill the Wagner way throughout the club and new coaches e.g. Hudson and Whitehead. Creating this continuity could see us a well-run, well-managed stable club for the next decade, even if we were to go down.
And, worst comes to worst, we get a bigger payout if Wagner does get snapped up by a bigger club.
Happy days UTT
