Good Afternoon,
Bristol City fan here.
First of all, wanted to say congratulations on a fantastic season last time round. You've 100% become a team that inspires teams like mine (Bristol City).
Anway, there are some strong rumours that we have approached you for your left back Scott Malone. It looks as though our star player, Joe Bryan, is about to move to Aston Villa.
Have you guys (and girls) heard anything up there? I'm starting to panic a bit. Is he even for sale? And what do you think of the lad?

Was in the championship team of the year when he last played there, for Fulham. Good attacking fullback at that level. Premier league seems a step too far in our system in all honesty.

Before the inevitable 'I'll drive him there myself' posts he was out of his depth in the PL, mainly because he was asked to defend more then play to his strengths of getting down the flank. Will be an asset in the Championship for sure. Definitely for sale.

I remember watching him play when he was at Bournemouth and I was really impressed. He had an engine on him then, but that was a good 7 years ago.

Think he'd be a good shout for a club in the playoff picture like Brizzle. Hasn't really worked out for us but was obviously a roaring success for Fulham. Definitely for sale!

As others have said, he's already shown that he can perform to good level in the Championship, but he's nowhere near good enough for the PL.

Ripped us apart in both games in our promotion season. Good luck, have enjoyed a few trips to Ashton Gate over the years, if not always the result!

It didn't quite work out for him in the premier league unfortunately, but if he can get back the form he had for Fulham in the 16/17 season he could do very well for you guys.
The fact that he didn't go with the rest of the squad to the week long training camp in Austria suggests he's for sale.
Löwe, Durm & Kongolo are now ahead of him in the pecking order aswell.
Good luck this season.

Fee of £3.5m is being mentioned.
So reading between the lines, great going forward, shakey defensively?

Didn't someone mention yesterday that brizzle want it as a loan but we want it as a permanent transfer?

Fee of £3.5m is being mentioned. So reading between the lines, great going forward, shakey defensively? Apart from the great going forward bit. He looks good running at defenders but he can't cross and missed some chances too. Worth watching for when he inevitably manages to kick the ball into his own face. Defensively a liability and worst of all he wears his socks so high I think he has a suspender belt under his shorts 😁. But good luck to the lad if he goes.

Wasn't up to marking the likes of Sanchez, Sterling, Zaha etc but we have never seem him defend at Championship level so tough to say - except against us of course - but attention was more drawn to the fact Fulham were sticking 9 goals past us (over both games) than how Malone was doing defensively..
Think he'd be a good signing, £3.5m would be about right. I'd definitely rate him over Jack Hunt too.
Good luck for the season.

When stood next to him in shorts he always looks like a piece of rock. All the tattoo swirls on someone so long and thin.

i think he’d really suit playing next to a back 3. Less defensive responsibilities as he’s very suspect. He’s quick and can beat a man; he did everything I thought he would apart from I was very unimpressed with his end product.
We had to work so hard to get the ball into crossing positions so it was frustrating that when we did he’d regularly drift a ball over the bar. At £3.5 I think you’ve got a good deal

Didn't someone mention yesterday that brizzle want it as a loan but we want it as a permanent transfer? if we cannot get what we want for him, wouldn't a loan to a championship club be advantageous to us at it would put him 'in the shop window' as it were?

Very harsh to say he couldn't defend against Zaha, Sanchez and Sterling!
With Kongolo, Lowe and Durm, he's definitely surplus to requirements and would be a very good signing for a potential top 6 championship club.

We will just about get our money back but never expected to make a profit on him or Ince, so the money for Ince was a bonus. We had to get players in very quickly last year so no fault of anyone's that it hasn't worked out. They both helped keep us up and that's the crux.

He wears his socks like longjohns. He makes me nervous every time he gets the ball.. Disaster waiting to happen defensive wise but.. Would probably do great back in championship.. Please buy him..🤓

Did a great job for us when coming on near the end in the Man City and Chelsea away games. Wagner trusted him to do the job he asked of him to secure the point we needed in those two games.

We were losing our way in the promotion season, defeat would have meant being overtaken by Bristol City and dropping out of the play off for the first time. Frank Fielding (who should have been sent off earlier) failed to control a back pass Nakhi slipped in, Town went on a winning spree while BCFC nearly went down. That error was a massive turning point.

Took me a while to warm to him, but can't question his commitment to the cause. Defended very well when the chips were down in those two games at the end. I remember he missed a chance on the break against City in injury time which would have won the game and seen us safe there and then. Popped up in those kinds of positions a few times, but never really looked like scoring. Will probably bang them in for fun if he drops to the Championship. Decent player. Good luck to him.
