FFS don't let anybody at the Club responsible for the last two transfer windows near the purse strings. It’s not just who we sign but the shocking deals we’ve seemingly done Kongolo - great player that he is - was sold to Monaco for €15m in 2017. He played 5 games for them and came to us on loan. We then paid €20m, a 33% profit for Monaco Limbomde - for the world looked to be signing for us for €12m - it fell through and Nantes got him in the same window for just €7m - over 40% less Diakhaby - goes to Monaco for €10m in 2017, barely plays and we still pay Monaco €10m for him Mbenza - pretty sure I read Montpellier couldn’t believe what we were prepared to offer It doesn’t, bode well when clubs know we pay over the odds - even worse when they know we’re desperate Last transfer window was a shambles and the deals were also. Very surprising considering how good Town were in pretty much all previous transfer windows under Dean Hoyle. What happened over the course of last season? Is it simply being new to the premier league or have some major changes happened behind the scenes? Surely Rebbe hasn't had that much of a (bad) impact?

Wouldn’t mind Michael Gregoritsch from Augsburg. 6’4”. Austrian. Cam play Centre mid, attacking mid or up front. About 15 goals in 35 for them, mainly from the midfield positions. Would be a fantastic signing, but I know some big German clubs are after him Saw him last weekend. Gave Leverkusen problems

Same applies to Mbenza, he’s be loads less if he’d gone to Spain.

Lossl £2.5m The only big fee we paid to a club abroad was Mounie We actually did alright buying out of the championship, ie made a profit on Ince and won’t have lost much on malone - may even broke even For me there’s no hiding we got royally ripped off this summer IMO when you look at the deals other sides did

Both Diakhaby and Mbenza have both played for serious nations u21s. Their clubs probably weren’t looking to sell. Depoitre was a complete flop at his previous club, so was Lossl and didn’t Flo come from a relegated Bundesliga club? Zanka was cheap I’ll agree on that. I think we bought wide men who we thought would at least be as good as we had but had a much higher ceiling. They might still do...but currently they are worse than what we had and we can’t afford to give them any development time.

I agree that will be the logic but I just look at the list of summer deals - and I know hindsight is a great thing - but we seem to be paying big sums for prospect and potential while others get established internationals for similar fees The last two summer we signed players aged 26 ish and often club captains Then this year it was a bunch of 21 and 22 year olds and hope they’d progress after a few months. Only Durm wasn’t a prospect and he’s done well We also largely ignored the German market despite loads of previous success there Just all odd and different to other years www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/transfers/wettbewerb/GB1/saison_id/2018

Anthony Pilkington on loan? Has more prem experience than our wingers and I’m sure he would jump through hoops to sign a deal

Pilkington doesn't have a squad number at Cardiff. Worrying thing is he'd be the best winger at our club if he came back up here.

Harry Bunn, Gary Roberts, Danny Ward & Joe Lolley would all be better wingers than Mbenza and Diakhaby

Kagawa and Okazaki would be great signings for us. You would have to think kagawa is on big money but maybe a loan move for him perhaps Both have not been selected for the Japanese Asian Cup squad. I guess the lack of game time has sealed that. Would have been selected if they were Aussies.

Okazaki was on bench for a sub standard losing Leicester City side in League Cup match last night.... Didn't even get to come on. Implies he so far off a starting place he must be available in January!!!

DW at today’s press conference re January.
“I have a list and I have a pen. Sometimes I put more on the list and sometimes I take some off!”
Altogether...”he’s making a list, he’s checking it twice,...”

Assuming he isn’t injured, he would absolutely be someone I would want in to replace Mooy. Not only that, he should be someone we feel we can get. He’s getting no game time at Chelsea (strange move btw) & knows us as a club. Sure he’d be interested.

Go get Okazaki. Can play at 9 or 10, out of contract in the summer and fits our hardworking ethos. Won’t he be involved in the Asia Cup?

Although he hasn't officially retired from International football, Japan are easing out the old guard. Both Okazaki and Kagawa have been left out of the squad. Would love to see Okazaki at Town. A bit of a character by all accounts as well. Kagawa would be even better!
