Arteta - surely he wants a crack at being a number one by now? No better place to start then at Town. Now that would be an interesting appointment. Played under Wenger and schooled in management next to Pep. Young, attack minded coach. Would he leave the riches of Man City for the challenge of keeping us up and arguably the challenge of then bringing us back up? Shy bairns and all that as they say in the NE...

Don’t want any of the merry go round managers would rather have Hudson Whitehead before any of names mentioned UTT Team talk would be easy. “Leave nothing on the pitch, or see my assistant after the game. See you in 45...” Thanks for that, something to put a little smile on my face on a sad day.

Lee Johnson for me - done a great job at Oldham, Barnsley and Bristol.
A very hardworking guy who's enthusiasm would rub off on the players and would have experience in the championship to have a good crack next season!

Just had a look at betting, id it's not bad enough losing the best Town manager I've ever known, that fat, big mouthed f*cker Allardyce is favourite. How I miss that "suicide" emoji!!
Then there is the usual list of previously failed ex-managers. !!!!!!!!
Grrrrrrr
Still look on bright side .....
There IS one, right? ;(

He’s a streaky manager, when on a good run they do very well but he’s had some shocking runs at Bristol City as well. They nearly went down in the season we went up.

David Wagner back and refreshed is my first choice. However and hear me out . At the end of this season Mr Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could very well be available .

I believe I could confidently speak for the vast majority of Town fans who would be absolutely ecstatic If Dean and the club announced at the end of this season that after a well deserved few months rest spending time with his family that David Wagner Is refreshed, re-energised, excited and ready to write another new chapter at HTFC. Whatever league we are In. This would be amazing! We can all dare to dream....But this Is HTFC afterall and we do things differently!!!

He's the type of appointment we could have got 3 years ago. The next manager needs to be a step up from what we had not down.

Maybe Jokanovic turned down the Forrest job because he new he was our next manager? Mybe he's been spoken too about the job of getting us back up next season...if Wagner already told Dean he was leaving at the end of season, this could have already been agread. The problem now is he will have to come in sooner than first thought..

Unless we go left field again, Jokanovic seems the obvious choice. We've seen his attacking football first hand (too many times), and right now that's probably the spark we need. Maybe his Championship days with Fulham can't be replicated but I'd be very tempted to give it a try.

I’m still in shock. Even with our bad run I didn’t think he’d go. How about the two from Lincoln?

Nailed on to be Jokanovic I reckon. Seems strange he turned forest down yesterday and reports of Wagner going last night that turned out to be true.

I know Bristol city fans who don't even rate him, says he don't know how to try get them out of the massive slumps they have every year

I like the idea of taking a break from football, maybe add in taking a break from some people??? it happens even to 'nice fellas' when the shit begins to hit the fan.. btw, none of the above forgets that we got promoted and had at least 2 seasons here but circumstances change and people go with em...

Pearson isn't right in the head. Bust up with Derby owner within a year of taking over after the Leicester debacle. Currently in wilderness of Belgian League. He can stay there for me. Changes his allegiance as to which way the money wind blows.

I honestly can't think of anyone known that could come in under the current circumstances and do any better than David especially with the squad we've got due to the awful recruitment. Also the attitude and lack of work rate of some of the newer players. Highlighted by the likes if Mbenza walking straight down tunnel on Saturday whilst others cane to applaud fans. Players like him have contributed massively to David's problems and will be glad to see the back of him, Diakhaby and the like.

DH at one of his recent Q&A’s said that he now knows what a good manager looks like and that there is a plan in place for when DW goes. He’s now gone, so hopefully the plan is being put in place. Personally I think DH will pull another rabbit out of the hat and do something a little different. No way will he employ one of the Merry-go-round managers; it’s not his style. We could be developing the new Liverpool boot room and give the job to someone within like Mark Hudson. Got to admit, I’m absolutely gutted tonight and feel really flat; I think too much poor luck and lack of goals sapped the energy and spark out of him. Unless he's gone with him, I'm suprised Hughes wasnt put in charge for Sunday. But I think that the lasting legacy of Wagner is what he has influenced behind the scenes. The club spending £20m on training facilities, the increased use of video analysis, double training sessions etc. But could putting Hudson and whitehead in charge of the junior sides to learn the "Terrier way" be plan in place for who next manager might be?

Re Allardyce being favourite, I wouldn't worry too much as he's instantly installed as favourite for any job where the club are fighting relegation. We need someone for the long term, not just a relegation firefighter
