To draw a line under the DW era is a round of applause on the 29th minute a suitable finale and then look forward?

Yet again great display work from the CL, particularly in the shortened time frame. Great tribute to DW...

Poor today.
The 'heartbeat' gave up and was MOSTLY silent after City's first goal.
We need more...especially at times like this.
Apologies if it's a criticism but you'll all happily welcome the adulation next season when hopefully we're winning more games and scoring more goals.

Atmosphere has been getting understandably worse as this season has gone on, but it's not for the want of trying. Hopefully our fortunes change and the team give the fans something to shout about.

I know there's a bit of a back and forth between you and the CL lads and I don't knock that you're entitled to your opinion, but I think suggesting the group 'welcomes the adulation' is a little snide. The only thing the group wants is for the atmosphere in the ground to be good. How often do you really see the lads lapping up the praise or showing any sign of superiority complex? I'd say rarely. Other fans - and the club themselves - go a little OTT in praising our atmosphere on a good day; what makes you think the CL are sat there smugly taking it in? I can tell you that the group themselves are absolutely their own critics and the only conversation that's been had since full time is 'how bad was that - must improve'. There's an undertone to your comment that the CL are only about the good times and that's pretty unfair, for me. And 'heartbeat'? Absolutely not self-proclaimed, so don't use that as a weapon against them.

Just meant it was poor....and has been on several occasions this season. I appreciate it's been tough viewing but if if want to set yourselves up as the heartbeat you need to take constructive criticism with any praise. All in all you've all thrived but the silence (when we're struggling) is deafening we all need better

It's hard to vocally support the drudgery we've witnessed this season but we all need to try harder...at least then we've all tried our very best.

It's hard to vocally support the drudgery we've witnessed this season but we all need to try harder...at least then we've all tried our very best. The CL do try, but if the noise doesn't spread then its not heard by many, especially if you're not in the SS. We (CL) gave it a good go for most of the first half but 50 folk in a stadium of 24K is not going to make an impact. Your comments aren't anything we don't know ourselves, but there is only so much you can do to influence other fans. We recognise the atmosphere has dropped (as per my other post) and we always have a 'debrief' on how we can try improve matters, but we do need the support of others. Being a former player in the South Stand campaign I'm sure you know how difficult it can be to bring people round to your way of thinking. We've made massive strides forward in terms of atmosphere and have set a high standard for ourselves as a fan Base, even on bad day we are still probably the best home fans in the Premier League, but we are aware standards have dropped recently as we are working on getting back to where we were.

Iâm right at the back of the south stand and often canât quite make out what is being sung - itâs not being spread backwards often enough by those behind, so a fair bit tends to fizzle out.
Once we get a couple of wins under the new man itâll get better. Everton are wobbling a bit, letâs take it to them.

The Cowshed Loyal are brilliant. It's not their fault that the rest of the south stand have become mute since early December. I stand at the back of the south stand and join in with every song but it's hard when 95% of people in the stand don't make any effort. The Wagner years have seen the best atmosphere at Town in all the time I've been going (stretching back to the 70s). It's now back to the norm but I'm hopeful next season might see a change.

Thought it was a very strange atmosphere in the south stand yesterday, as if with David Wagner leaving it had ripped the heart out of the club, cowshed loyal tried there best but even where I was stood to the right of them it didn't carry.

It's very, very hard as a fan to get motivated for a fixture like the one yesterday. I don't think I've ever gone to a league game thinking "we've literally got no fucking chance here".
It's a demoralising feeling. Add in to the mix the fact that Wagner had left a few days earlier and it's no surprise the atmosphere was subdued to say the least.

We never stopped because everyone had belief and crucially, no fear. For what ever reason, all thatâs gone.

Even his harshest critics recognised what heâd done and for lots of people it was a shock. Hopefully, the new manager (and post work Booze) will help with the atmosphere against Everton. If we do go down & there is a significant drop in season cards (hopefully not). Would the club be tempted to again offer the whole stand to 4k paying away fans? Fucking hope not!

Thought the banner on Sunday was excellent. The architecture of the stadium probably doesnât allow it but it would be nice to see some of these made âpermanentâ as they are at other grounds. The DH âfit and properâcrowd surfer would be another.

The Cowshed has been a disgrace this season. It's not been the same as last couple of seasons, understandably so IMO, however to say it's been a disgrace is one of the most stupid comments I've seen on here recently and that's saying something !
