If, as suspected and Jan Siewert comes in as head coach, I wonder if:
a. He knows Buhler so would be a familiar face to help him ease into the job and assist in the transition b. As it’s mid-season in the PL, a league JS doesn’t know and has no time to prepare, having him there to help him get ready for Everton is seen as useful
So it may be a short-term remain until JS gets up to speed.

Eh he is left Wagner more or less confirmed they had both left in that half time video. Tbf - that’s what I thought, but it was the preceding couple of thread comments regarding his name still being in the match day programme and on the website that got me thinking. There again, as others have alluded to, it may be just an oversight.

And Hughes looked pretty glum. It was the whitehead and Hudson show

Must be the conspiracy theorist in me, but Gabriele Buhler is still tweeting/retweeting about Huddersfield...
Garden leave? Backroom staff? Who knows?

An odd one this. The Buhlers obviously have not moved. It makes you wonder if David Wagner is gone forever.

It does indeed, especially with the whole "goodbye and I feel we'll see each other again" message. I only asked William Hill for odds on a return within 5yrs the other day but they couldn't give me odds with the #YourOdds on twitter.. Does anyone know if this kind of bet can be placed?

I doubt its that easy just to fuck off, especially when you have kids in school...
And that's before you consider that they don't yet have a job to go to...so whats the point in leaving just for the sake of it to somewhere random when you could be off again in 2/3 months?

Clearly digging his heels in over the 'settlement' and who can blame him ?
Football must be the only job where if your boss f***s off you can end up been out of a job without knowing it ! Well paid, but no stability.

I would like Town to keep both Buhler and Hughes. Both seem excellent and highly detailed coaches. It would be a shame to lose proven coaching talent ( the promotion and staying up).
Things always go into flux when a new manager/leader comes in. Siewert seems to want Winkler and Husdon as the backroom staff. I hope space/positions can be found for Hughes and Bulher.

Bit of a shitter really for the Buhler's.
Met Mrs Buhler at Man City and nevermind her husbands influence, we'll miss her vocal support in the stands!
Clearly enjoyed their time in Huddersfield and don't want to leave. He should be paid up in full/ serve his gardening leave and be fully respected for all his efforts, as should Andy Hughes.

He's handed in his keys for his rented house...so I doubt he's staying.

Still listed as assistant head coach in todays match programme. Perhaps he’ll stay on with the new boss from Dortmund 2 ? If he screws up, the chances are that Wagner might come back after a 6 month rest. We're not going to keep 2 assistant head coaches. Once his severance dues are agreed I think he'll be off.

Anybody know the situation with Hughes seeing as though Hudson appears to have stepped up and Whitehead is now in charge of the U19's?

Anybody know the situation with Hughes seeing as though Hudson appears to have stepped up and Whitehead is now in charge of the U19's? At the Q&A before the Everton game Leigh Bromby confirmed both Bühler and Hughes were on gardening leave pending contractual settlements.

You say that with conviction so I'll assume you're ITK - seems like a poor attitude from Mr Wholesome - give your notice in, presumably take a settlement and screw taking care of your assistant .... ??

If I'd brought a guy from another country to be my assistant and his being employed was more or less determined by me being employed, if I suddenly decided before the end of my contract that I wanted out and I negotiated my settlement - I'd be wanting to be assured that my assistant was getting taken care of OK too - especially as I was the one who was earning the big bucks and bonuses too. Maybe that's just the way I work.

Maybe that's just the way I work. Wagner didn't 'bring him from another country' that would be Huddersfield Town on Wagner's request. I have no idea what Buhlers salary is but I would imagine pretty lucrative. Who's to say Buhler's agent won't get his client better terms than Wagner's agent? That's assuming of course that the club would even entertain Wagner's agent acting on Buhlers behalf?
