Disagree, think it’s class that we do silly little things like this, keeps us real!

Great to hear from our chairman.
Personally totally happy with this appointment. Reckon he’s the new Eddie Howe.
Finally, if he’s known if our interest for a couple of years then maybe he’d have been keeping a close eye on us and have some idea of what the current players are about.

One thing that shouldn't be forgotten about is his age. Wagner was reasonably young in managerial terms & I like the fact we have a bloke who won't be on too different a wavelength to the players. He's had time to work his man mgmt skills as well so hopefully gaining their respect won't be an issue... Bring it on - I can't believe he won't be doing all he can in the short term to salvage the season... Also, very shrews of the club to have this only take a week to bring back some positivity to the place... Only the dinosaurs on here will be underwhelmed by this appointment, but I think DW re-set a few of their views in his time here anyway, so hopefully 100% buy-in for the bloke... Is he a man or a mouse?

To stand any chance this season or next we have to unite behind this guy like we did behind DW. One thing that went missing in December with results was belief in the stands. He may not be the exciting appointment some wanted and I worry we have got him to early in his career but lets hope he sees some quick fixes he can make in the squad and gets a bit of backing to sign a couple of players to make us competitive in the final 3rd until the end of the season. Certainly seems like an appointment that has confidence in his own ability turning down QPR among others.

Was a bit apprehensive with this appointment, but as always DH quashes any concerns. I just hope the fans give him time to put his stamp on things

The press office/deano must come on here and read the comments, hes addressed the majority of "concerns" people had with just taking the next man off the line at Dortmund, Welocme Jan, good luck. He is incomparable as a chairman. To explain in such detail, as you say answering fans likely questions/doubts, to make it apparent we followed the guy since his then club hosted us in a friendly a couple of years ago; just shows how we do things differently. I for one love it. The audacity of Fat Sam to ‘rule himself out’!! Like we were ever going that way!!!

Martin from Wakefield is going to be dining out on this for yrs... Any others on here who could pass as a doppelganger or body double for famous people... We must have someone who looks like Oti? Yep, Richard Gere regularly claims he looks like me. Getting a bit sick of it to be frank.

Good for the club to highlight Martin from Wakefield's charity, fair play to him to do the video, even as a Man City fan! It’s made my day tbh. My lad went to Martin house after he died, spent 3 weeks in a refrigerated bedroom. They read him stories at night, put him in PJ’s, dressed him in a morning, opened his curtains, let me hold him in the private gardens a couple of times.... £300k a month to run that place I was told and it’s all charity funded. Money for war etc etc. Priceless house, fair play to Martin, fair play to Town, fair play to Jan. Oh and good luck Jan.

Siewart by name....seemingly masochist by nature! Good luck to the guy. He's being dropped in at the deep end.....let's hope he's a powerful swimmer. Pronounced "Svimmer". They call a w" the double "v". In essence they pronounce it as a single "V"

Great quote from DH.
“Like any good football club – or successful business outside football – we have succession plans in place for our key roles. A major one here is the role of head coach.
Any chance then of a striker being seen as a key role Deano? All the fuss about a manager (we had one) and all we needed was a goalscorer and a footballer centre-back.

Good luck Jan Siewert and welcome to Huddersfield. Better a German than some fat has-been or a snotty Frenchman. He will be disciplined and dedicated and he vill come down most hard on zose players who are not following zee orders!!!! Cue some lefty frothing at my stereotyping

Must have been such a hard time Ben - just logged on and donated $100 on the back of your story and the Town video, thought it was great.

If Jan gives me some memorable moments (of the football type) as per DW then he'll do for me. Where's Kongolo to push Jokanovic through his tears of disappointment? UTT

Great news all round in my opinion - we have a young, enthusiastic head coach who will bring his own ideas to the training ground, who will see things that others might not have in some players - hopefully more exciting times ahead. Added to that the publicity for a charity that I had not heard about - excellent on the part of our club and Chairman. Dean Hoyle certainly thinks about those less fortunate than himself at every opportunity and if ever there was a person who deserved success with his business and football team its him!

You'd think he'd have been keeping an eye on us if the club made an impression on him, which it seems like we did. It won't have been hard to follow us in the Premier League.

I found it pretty hard to follow us this season.

Football is a game. It ain't life, it ain't death, it isn't going to affect your job prospects, your prosperity or your health. It's supposed to be fun. If there's one thing most managers seem to lack (I'm looking at you Robins, Powell, Grayson...), it's personality. That video isn't going to win any BAFTAs, but it shows a bit of personality - something Dave had in spades, of course - but it's just a bit of fun. Fair play, I say. On a more relevant note - welcome to Town, Jan. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, however it pans out. UTT.

Right, lets all get behind Jan and give him our full support, he may not be everyone's first choice but he's Deans choice so that's good for me. David and Christophes recommendation
