It’s made my day tbh. My lad went to Martin house after he died, spent 3 weeks in a refrigerated bedroom. They read him stories at night, put him in PJ’s, dressed him in a morning, opened his curtains, let me hold him in the private gardens a couple of times.... £300k a month to run that place I was told and it’s all charity funded. Money for war etc etc. Priceless house, fair play to Martin, fair play to Town, fair play to Jan. Oh and good luck Jan. Must have been such a hard time Ben - just logged on and donated $100 on the back of your story and the Town video, thought it was great. Good man, thank you. It will make such a huge difference to so many ill children at Martin House.

Right, lets all get behind Jan and give him our full support, he may not be everyone's first choice but he's Deans choice so that's good for me. David and Christophes recommendation I'm amazed we've been after him for as long as we have. It must have something to do with David Wagner.

Good for the club to highlight Martin from Wakefield's charity, fair play to him to do the video, even as a Man City fan! It’s made my day tbh. That little video is Town all over...can you imagine Man United doing that? I would rather be in the Champs and supporting a real club than up there with all the tosspots.

Get real Oti, Man Ute - arguably the biggest club in the world. Why not try to support our Club & Players! Little late for a New Year resolution, why not try it Oti - UTT.

I undersold it in my initial post, it’s £8m a year to run, £666k a month. Every penny counts 👍🏻

Apprehensive at first with this appointment thought it might be a hopeful punt at getting what we got with DW, however as usual Deano has allayed all my fears with that statement of JS being on the radar for years.... never should have doubted it.
A week off now to get a lot of work done on the training pitch and looking forward to starting the great escape against the Everton!

Pleased with this. Possibly a risk but aren't all appointments.
Young, lots to prove, but with good pedigree.
I think being German he can continue with the good brought by DW without seeming to mimic him or lack authenticity. For example the celebrations after a win, a German thing. An English manager would have been damned if he did, damned if he didn't do that. The partial continuity allows us to make it a Town thing, our identity.
Just need to bring back the wins now.

Welcome to Town Jan Siewert, love that we’ve yet again chosen a forward thinking coach who can bring new ideas and fresh impetus. You’ll have my full backing, good luck.

The best thing about being cut so far adrift and almost nailed on to go down is you can start planning for next season 5 months before anyone else. There's hardly any other club in the Premier League, Championship or League One who can start doing that for Championship 2019/20 season. A huge advantage

Tbf to Oti, I read his response as doing just that; it’s the little things we do that make us what we are and he’s happy going into the Championship with a real club. I’m sure I will be corrected if I’m reading it wrong.

Brings perspective to life when there’s folk on here moaning about a manager and a silly video.

David and Christophes recommendation I'm amazed we've been after him for as long as we have. It must have something to do with David Wagner. Maybe Wagner recommended Siewert to Dortmund in the first place as a replacement for Farke?

In and amongst some surprisingly sensible comments on the Beeb, there's this one... I'm a Bradford City fan. Some Bradford City fans don't like Leeds. I'm not like that - I support every team in Yorkshire apart from Huddersfield. Why? Our record signing at the time, Gordon Watson, was injured in a horror tackle by Town's Kevin Gray. Ironically his 1st game back from injury was as a sub v Huddersfield. All their fans sang 'You've only got 1 leg'. Pathetic, glad your going down :-) Clearly they've forgotten about him trying to break the jaw of our lad a few mins prior... Forgotten Town letting them use our ground and more recently loaning them shit loads of players because they couldn't afford a full squad. Send Payne back.

In a way it worries me more though that he's been on our radar for years. So we had thought of him as a replacement when in the championship, were now in a much better place, better team, higher profile, much bigger budget and we still go for him. Good luck to him though and hopefully he does well, just hope he has a half decent run in now to end of the season and give everyone a bit of a boost going in to the championship. If he has a dire run in then I don't think people will give him a lot of time to get things right next season.

Could be a very clever appointment, makes sense to keep the German theme going, as a ploy to stop our best players from leaving end of the season.
If he’s anything like Wagner then it can only be good for the players.
