Wasn't the loans announcement originally due to be THIS week ? if so they'd have known all the above, with the possible exception of the dog eating the contract.(bus is always delayed and never count on trains not being on strike) No and not necessarily. With respect to PH's comments on transfers and timeframes, as they were not taken verbatim / formally reported, I think there is an element of Chinese whispers about them. From what I recall (and I apologise if its me that has misunderstood), the initial first-hand reports were that PH had disclosed: -two signings in the week (last week); -two international transfers; - three premier league loans (and something about one being more exciting than Mooy). So far the prophecy has been fulfilled (Brown and Koroma). It was another poster, separate to this discussion, that alluded to two being unveiled this week (not PH). With respect to loans, they are the same as transfers in modern football, so most of the above does indeed apply. But things also change and are delayed, as they do in everyday business. PH may have shown some naivety in this regard. Or he may not. Lets wait and see. Hope that's helpful. Just need to add what JW said the same day. We’re on with about five [potential new signings], one we've done and two we hope to do before the end of this week and two into next week.

Fingers crossed then. 👍 I do think some people misread the PH statement but looking at both stories it sort of confirms we were closing down on targets and like you say we will have too wait and see.

Just had a look at the championship transfer tracker, not too much happening so far.
11 championship teams have yet to make any signings, including the other two relegated teams. Out of the 3 teams that failed in the playoffs only Derby have made a free transfer signing.
The only teams to do more business so far are Stoke & Barnsley.
Some people need to calm down abit.

Probably for about 25M in January if we aren't competing at the top of the table. £25m? Are you on crack? That's the figure quoted on the news networks.

Cardiff signed Joe Day from Newport County. Might affect Alex Smithies situation.

i disagree. A very large turnover of players isn't going to happen. We'd leave ourselves short. Depends on your definition of 'very large' I suppose, but rest assured plenty of players will leave and they'll be replaced by others that can hopefully fit in and hit the ground running. We keep talking about players leaving being replaced by others coming in 1 keeper 2 full backs 1 centre mid All gone already without being replaced Presumably they can be replaced now

If it was that simple every team would have their new players in already. Have some patience.

To be clear this isn’t a timing point (but we don’t imo have time to be patient) My point is we keep saying players need to leave to be replaced. These players have already gone. Do you agree they can be replaced without others going?

To have any chance of succeeding here Siewert needs signings in ASAP - this pre season is key I’m sure i’ll be told I’m being too negative... as I was last July...

Do you agree they can be replaced without others going? The club have already said deals are in the pipeline, what makes you think they're lying? It's not like all the other championship clubs are making big moves whilst we stand still. Two clubs in the championship have done more business than us so far & 10 haven't made any signings yet. Some players are on international duty, Bundesliga window hasn't officially opened yet, some are contracted until 1st July. Plenty of business to be done over the next 5/6 weeks by all the clubs.

Yes you were absolutely right to say that little old Huddersfield with the smallest budget in the league by far would get relegated from the Premier League. Give that man/woman first prize. Congratulations. In the real world hardly anyone in our league has signed anyone yet so feet up and wait for the window to shut Then start your moaning should you wish to

At this stage in our promotion pre-season we still hadn't signed Shindler, Hef, Mooy, Ward, Stankovic, Palmer, etc. That didn't work out too badly, did it? Calm down.

Pretty confident there’ll be a fair bit of business done next week. There’ll have been activity behind the scenes but as players will be contracted to 30/06 with their current club, guess it’s the done thing to announce July onwards. Whether any of them will get the juices flowing is another matter but the 3 announced so far are decent starts. If Cardiff have signed another keeper & we desperately needing a good number 1, wonder if Smithees is on the radar? Also, does anyone know how long Collin is contracted to us for?
