It's very late on a bank holidayamd I've had a fw.Myy understanding of Huddersfield's wage structure is somewhere between. £35,000 to £50,000 a week depending on bonuses achieved. It is a little cloudy.
For certain Pritchard is not on £120,000 a week. This comes from a dubious European website that clearly has the figure wrong.it has them been repeated many times.
All players have a 40% relegation clause. Most Town players are on a wage structure ranging from 5-10,000 a week to £35,000 a week before bonuses.
I'll try and post relevant links to facts tomorrow

Im at a complete loss to see why anyone needs to know how much a players earns - do you ask the same question when you go to a concert, the theatre, Mcds etc

It's weird the obsession with wages. They don't deserve it, they're overpaid. So what? Is it the players fault they're paid what they are, should they turn the money down? When I go for a new job I try to get as much as possible but I don't know if I'm going to be amazing at the job or not or whether they'll think I'm worth it. I probably won't put my all in to it everyday either. Plenty of players do a lot of good with their time and money as well it just doesn't get publicised as much because let's be honest who wants to hear about a footballer donating money, starting up charities or spending time helping others less fortunate out when you can have the sensationalised headlines of the minority? At the end of the day they are normal people who happened to be good at something and want to get as much out of it as they can, for some of them it's just a job (Ben Foster openly doesn't give a shit about football for example), for others they will be living their dream but why does it matter how much they're earning?

Those seem plausible but when you think Rhodes left us for. allegedly, £45k per week it puts things in perspective. If all these players are on contracts that see them drop by 40% in the Championship how many will want to stay (appreciating some will leave anyway). It would be interesting to know what top end Championship contracts were at the moment. That's the market we are competing with.

How many will have offers better than what their new reduced contracts will be on? Not many I'm guessing!

They just aren't good enough and ended up at a higher level than they were capable. I know the excuse will come out that we were good enough last year but it's because we started on a high and confidence was up, our results for nearly 18 months have been pretty awful because we just aren't good enough. I'd imagine that in comparison to wages earned across the league we're pretty much where we should be albeit probably further away.
