Imagine you spend all week working on tactics for the game then gift the other team a goal after 15 seconds. Do you really think that's under Jan's control? Do you really think he's coaching his centre backs not to mark a bloke who's in the box alone? Players have half given up, they want to be anywhere else bit on the football pitch right now. Jan's on a hiding to nothing. I agree, but the reason we went one nil down is he picked a player out of his depth who granted them a one nil lead in 15 secs ( Stankovic) How many players could he pick who aren't out of their depth?

Good point, but would you pick Stankovic in midfield, ask yourself how many right minded top level managers would , because no offence this guy is anything but good enough and what worries me is that Jan thinks it’s his best option.

Question - would Mooy have made any difference last night? Not to the end result but just in general; thought, on occasion, we zipped the ball around a bit quicker which may or may not have been due to his absence.

Because Siewert's out of his depth. Any manager with half a brain should know that we haven't got the players to play it from the back against top teams. If he'd have done his homework he'd have known that Liverpool press high up the pitch and have bags of pace. Mounie's only asset is his heading ability and in situations like last night Lossl should have been aiming for his head. Its alright saying the players are at fault but its Siewert's tactics that they're failing miserably to carry out.

Ok mate, I will. It's because it was a ridiculous over reaction, totally ignoring the history of his 56 years and with zero perspective. There were numerous times where it's been far more embarrassing than it is now. Just off the top of my head; a) The early 70s when we went from Div 1 to 4 in 4 seasons. b) 92nd out of 92 when Mick Buxton took over and that record low crowd of 1,600. c) Malcolm McDonald's season. d) The 10-1 at Man City. TEN goals conceded in 90 minutes! e) Jacko's great escape season when we took FIVE points from the first 14 games. f) 2002/3 season when we lost 5-1 at Port Vale on the last day to be relegated to the bottom tier. g) Going to the brink of extinction. h) The long years between 2004 and 2012 when it seemed we would be permanently marooned in L1. There will be more, but that will do. Yes, there have been mistakes this season (which have been admitted by DH), but he's also said these 2 years in the PL have set the club up financially for years to come and that's far more important than relegation from the ludicrously mismatched shyte division that the PL is. This is the first year in about 10 when the clubs standing has regressed (in league position). Just think about that - 9 successive seasons of improvement. It's time for the big babies (I'm not referring to you here, rather am trying to answer your point) to stop throwing their toys out the pram on the back of one poor season and recognise the enormous strides that have been made in the previous 9. If after all that success, a step back has to be taken, so be it. 'Most embarrassing time to be a Town fan in 56 years'?? Fuck me rigid - it's not even close. Do you think the footballing world noticed our previous failures? The point is this season we have embarrassed ourselves on the world stage. I'm fully aware it's been worse but it's never been as public. Right now the club is famous for being utterly crap in every department. Tiny club bullshit, pathetic transfer business, terrible results, losing the best manager we've had in decades, ridiculous ill advised appointment of a novice manager, breaking record after record for being shit, putting a fecking logo on the shirt instead of the . We've been like a worse version of Blackpool. It's been a total shit show and the club has been publicly humiliated week after week. I think that was the point to op was making and I agree. I'm fully aware and appreciative of previous progression and to be honest it just magnifies the current failure. Feels like we've chucked away the chance of a lifetime. It would be nice if we could at least see some light at the end of the tunnel. The whole club just seems like a total mess at the moment. Financially the club is in good shape but that won't last long unless they get the footballing side right. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards We're never going to agree mate. I think your whole post is a massive over reaction (just like the OP last night), perfectly illustrated by the bit in bold. 'Worse than Blackpool'? Give me strength!
Personally, I don't give a shit what the rest of the football world thinks. There have been loads of clubs who have had terrible PL seasons and not gone into oblivion. The worst of the lot (Derby, btw who's record we have comfortably gone past) haven't done too bad since have they?
There have been numerous dark days during the last 40 odd years, but this season isn't anywhere near the worst.

Of course we have had bad seasons before. But we have never had the great opportunity of this season before. Namely to stay in the Premier League. We have cocked up massively getting just about everything wrong. I cannot possibly guess how we could of managed things any worse both on and off the pitch. What’s even worse is that I can’t even see any positives for next season!

8-)I have enjoyed reading the posts on here more than watching the game last night,.far more entertaining!. I started match with a Stella, which I almost choked on after 15 seconds, after the second goal I had to graduate to Brandy. It felt a bit better after that. I am hoping for much better

There were quite a number of shall we say, ‘bling bling’ Dutch footballer lookalikes in our end last night sporting Luis Vuitton man bags and the like. Arrived late, went early, wonder who’s mates they were ? 🤔

If you beat something by 27%, you've beaten it comfortably in my book. Anyway, who's to say we won't increase it to 20? Not really the point I was making though.

Just catching up on here and reflecting on last night. It was hard to bare especially with the gift we gave them from our kick off. Naiive, careless, infuriating springs to mind. I'm thinking make ourselves hard to beat and play percentages no risk football in our final third instead of trying to play the ball out into what was a strong gusty wind. That said good reaction initially with the three corners but the first one completely wasted by Bacuna. This lad has shortcomings but if there is a prize for most improved player he should get it. Looks strong, willing and clearly cares about things. He will be a very good player next season with the experience gained. Other positives was Grant again proving he is a very good player and unlucky not to slide the rebound home in the second half. Hogg was his usual self, worked hard and gave his all but lacked quality. Unfortunately, we were sadly lacking in terms of quality, confidence and common sense in too many situations. Again, I don't like singling out players for criticism but as already noted by others Mounie was absolutely dreadful yet again passing up a great opportunity and looking unfit, lethargic and not resembling a professional footballer. The big positive was our superb support and the friendly stewards and rapport with fans of Liverpool FC before and after. I can't lie I had a great day out. Hate town losing but is softened when it's to arguably one of the top 10 teams in world football right now . What made it was our immense support and the gallows humour. The only downside apart from what unfolded on the pitch was my inability to get my Van Dijk " you're just a shit Gordon Tucker" chant going . Anyway.... Luton next season . Jeez. You actually WENT to a game Chips? I had a shit time. Hotel £188....£70 normally. Security staff making it hard to get in my own room. Window whistling. Phone did not work, no TV control. Booking lost and an hour to check in. Crap, packed concourse at the ground. Stewards programmed to say "have a nice day". Flew in....idiot taxi driver. Had to meet friends all over the city. Plastic centre these days...where did all the old pubs go? A storm, shit bars. Shit food. Is there a proper restaurant in the city? £25 for a snacks that would not have fed one. Traffic jam to the ground. 1-0 down after 10 seconds. No way to get back to the city...took me two pints and 2 hours in the rain. Only highlights were the brilliant Town fans and Lime street for the train out. Ended up at 1am in a kebab shop with 10 Liverpool fans....who had all flown in from Kenya!! Give me the John Smiths and the Vulcan any day.

There will be some knobs on here that will still reckon it’s Hamer’s fault for our defeat tonight! There will certainly one knob trying hopelessly to use tonight's result to bolster his mistaken view that Hamer is a better keeper than Lossl. He isn't. Happy for Lossl to go in summer but Hamer is not the answer as first choice next season just as he hasn't been this. Not saying Hamer is Premier League standard but he’s 10 times the keeper Lossl is, not afraid of getting his shirt mucky either!

What did I tell you? Lössl plays like a complete shithead yet again and still you have knobs on here slating Hamer! Oh, wait a minute though, Lössl did make one good save at Chelsea a year ago! I'm not defending Lossl, but pound for pound, Hamer has made more mistakes per minute played this season than Jonas has... I'm not going to change your mind though, you'd still defend Hamer even if he shipped a dozen goals vs Man Utd... Maybe you've invested in a truck load of posters for your bedroom wall & just can't bear the thought of all that money wasted? Hamer is not shit scared of getting in where it hurts, Lossl is. That makes my mind up quite easily.
