Read an article in the Hull Daily Mail about how easy it was for Sheff Utd fans to get tickets in the home areas, no checks , no prior database history resulting in the inevitable confrontation & ejections. A linked article shows this picture ( no. 13 of 14) involving a game with Town, no date given but a few familiar suspects, likely the April '81 away fixture we lost 2-1 which was from memory a bit like the wild west. Temporary barriers for segregation, a football special of 1000+ pulling in behind the away end, Boothferry Halt, just a platform, we had the long side that day perhaps 2000 following. www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/gallery/hull-city-fans-causing-trouble-2714093

Hull away then Burnley away on the Tuesday. Killed our season I remember getting to Turfmoor late coz of the huge following we took and they only had 1/2 turnstiles open. Got in just before half time having missed at least two goals.

This also happened at Preston. Less tasty though there. And a decent amount of Blades were in the home crowd at Brentford/L**ds. Very easy for them to blend in

Hull away then Burnley away on the Tuesday. Killed our season Burnley was my first ever away game. Remember it seeming like it was a different world from West Yorkshire.

We hit bad form at the wrong time. I think we lost at home to Millwall before these two games as well. Still a great time to be watching Town though.
