These threads can around in circles forever Never understood the pointless exercise of trying to convince the other person of something they don't agree with I can't be bothered with it at all and think the standard is very poor but I couldn't care less if someone thinks the opposite That's only because it seems half the people on here can't debate properly, which in particular are those that constantly say things like 'I am entitled to my opinion'. I'd rather be sworn at by someone who is properly debating than get in a 'debate' with someone who forms an opinion and just batters you with the same point made with different words, never addressing the points you make.

Poor from someone of Parris's experience, too easy a height for keeper. Maybe Argentina the surprise dark horses this time?

I know it is a gulf in class between the lads and lasses but the england women's strikers look like they've never 'kicked' a ball. It's almost like watching an under 7's match the level of aptitude up front. Back to middle we're OK. Is it the pressure getting to them? If not it's quite frankly shocking. Simple stuff to kick a ball.

Job done but will need to step it up for the knockout phase. We're not half missing Jordan Nobbs, if only she'd been fit instead of being there as a pundit

Greenwood + Mead - worth watching far fitter than Jordan Nobbs Fair play to them tonight - got the job done
Lets see how that do against better sides - first round matches over and the dross gone

I thought the pace and skill of the French the other night was really good but I would never think of comparing it to the men's French team. Why would I? But I am comparing it to men's football as that is what I watch and enjoy, compared to that I find it pretty awful. As women playing football go, it is obviously a high standard but it does nothing for me, if you enjoy it, crack on, I don't.

Just watched USA's second goal against Chile - a header from a corner. An excellent finish and one that I genuinely couldn't see VLP,Quaner, Flo, Hoggy and several others in the Town side matching. Come to think of it I'm not sure if I've seen literally almost half of Town's side of last year EVER score from a header !
Edit - USA just scored another - beautifully placed header. Absolutely awful marking from a corner but showed the aforementioned Town players how it's done...

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/48656651Quoted as being “one of the best saves at any women’s World Up ever” I don’t see this as being spectacular. I see saves like this weekly in normal leagues, non league etc. They’re trying too hard to push it

No other agenda spezial??

For me, came at a nice height - one for the cameras
PS Sue Smith still has one of the worst commentating styles in the whole football universe......whiny fcking scouse wasp like annoying nasal twang - topped off (literally) by the usual stupid fcking haircut

No other agenda spezial?? Don't want to sound like a TV pundit but it was a 'nice height'. If she had headed it downwards no keeper would have saved it. Still a great save, the best save I have seen in the womens game. The games I have watched the keepers don't seem too good, no agenda.
