Looks atrocious. The gradients make it look too dated and the modern dog just doesn’t suit the rest of the styling at all. Does Castle Hill actually have a wall that is caved in on one side like that too? Could have neatened up so much more than they have. Pompey for Head of Design. Haven’t had chance to read about it yet but does it say who has actually done it? Can’t believe an actual creative agency would use such bad colour gradients and about 6 different stroke/outline widths. I know most people won’t care about the finer details like that but it’s stuff that is really so basic to any designer. Looks like this has been thrown together by someone who thinks they can work photoshop and screams of us taking the cheap option instead of getting someone to do a proper job.

Prefer the new shield to the old one. Other than that its basically the same with one or two minor changes.
Still got the same branding issues the previous one had.. old fashioned shield and foliage, not particularly distinct or recognisable.
Should have stuck with rubery's round one IMO.

It just doesn't fit. The dog looks way too small compared to the badge, and as mentioned above the combination of traditional and modern just looks cluttered.
At least it's better than the dog on its own. That's about as positive as I can get over it.

It doesn't really solve any of the problems with the current one tbh. Sideways move to please everyone and no-one at the same time.

Obviously not perfect, as some don't like it, but IMO it is just fine. And they have taken the time to give an explanation as to their thoughts behind it.
I like it.

I like it, a definite improvement. It would be better without the but as mentioned above that won’t happen. That last badge with stars above looked shit, surely no one had that tattoo. I hope that you mean without the shield!! Oh yeah

I'd say the one (and for me, big) problem it does solve is that even within the new shield, the is much more emphasised. Previously, the combination of the stars and shape of the old shield reduced the to nothing. At least now the is the main focus. Saying that, it does look very amateurishly done..

Yeah, they’ve tried not to upset anyone by keeping all of the elements and cramming them in. Seems like a good chunk of people are happy with it just for that reason and the club will probably see that as a success but it is far from it, it’s hideous.

I never understand why we don't have 4 stars on our badge. If Bradford are allowed one, why can't we have 4? Maybe that's where Talk Sport got confused the other week.

Wrong place for this, perhaps, but I was fearful of beginning a new thread! When does the EPL lion come out of the DATM header, to be replaced by a standard 'O'? Or are we keeping it as a badge of honour?

Decent effort, shame the shield is still there but as long as it doesn't continue to render to a tiny size on telly etc I'm happy. Hoping the shield will only be used on the shirt. Not sure how it even ended up being part of the tbh since it started out making the badge easier to see and apply to a shirt. It was an oval background on the pony home shirt iirc. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards

What is the significance, if any, of the armoured helmet and leafy bits (for want of a better description)? I know it was part of the original but I've never understood why. Is it just to make it appear more regal?

I surely must be misunderstanding. Well, hope I am in any event. If not I will leave you to justify that. If it is simply that in your opinion you don't like it, that is fair enough.

It's not surprising though, some of the marketing material the club puts out is so bad it looks like it's been knocked up on Wordart. Embarrassing.

If they got rid of the shield it’d be great. The shield's great, I just wish they'd get rid of everything inside it!

I mean rather than focus on a good design and looking at it with ways to improve it and fix its flaws they have simply tried to make sure they keep every element whether it works or not, disregarding the actual layout and the way it looks. From a design perspective it doesn’t work but I totally appreciate some people won’t care about that and they just want to see a dog, stars, castle hill, yorkshire rose and the whole shebang on it and I guess it’s those people they’ve tried not piss off with the new design and as a result it just looks naff because the actual design hasn’t been the priority.

Take the stars off, if they need to be on the shirt, have them seperately above the badge.

My own opinion, i wish they had done something a bit different. Still incorporating the dog, stars, yorkshire rose etc but leaving the "coat of arms" stuff behind. It certainly looks better with the stars inside the though.

Like it. Prefer it to last season and the round one.
Think it will add abit of panache to the shirt with a hint of "je ne se quoi" without being too post modern.

It's an improvement on the last few efforts but is still a complete mess. As HalifaxTerrier said earlier the gradients are really dated and poorly executed. For me it's far too busy and smacks of attempting to compromise to as many fans liking it as possible, at the cost of basic principles of design.
It's too busy, it draws from various elements of the club's history (town hall heraldry, badge design from the 80s, the new terrier) while not consolidating them into a cohesive style. Had the same person who designed the terrier made the badge, the shapes of the rest of the badge would complement it. Whereas here it just stands out like a sore thumb and doesn't even appear to be centred properly. Are the 1908 and the club name even in the same font?
Will all sound like pedantic details I'm sure but it's a lazy attempt that's tried to please too many people. Could be worse though.
