Hopefully all the knee-jerkers have gone..
i thought that was a rusty start but we had some cracking chances against a side that is supposedly one of the best in the division.
More composure and a realisation that we go get good chances in this league and we will soon (i think) be up there this season.
Some of our attacking play was good / promising. Yes the defence worries me (Schindler apart).
Onwards and upwards !

Absolutely, why feel bad about writing something positive . I thought we were rubbish. And not sure why you think Derby are one of the best in the division . They've lost most of their best players from last season . Ans bot evwryone who thinks we are rubbish is a knee jerker.. But it's good to be positive

I appreciate you want to be positive but I'm struggling to see where this good attacking play was as I don't really recall it, crossing was awful and the final ball dire. We only had two clear cut chances which were badly fluffed. There was very little positive from last night. Will you be as still as positive if we lose at Loftus Road or Lincoln dump us out of the cup? I hope Seiwert turns it round but I'm struggling to see that he knows what he's doing a lot of time, maybe he does and the players can't do what he wants them to do? |

apart from a mad 5 mins we were better than Derby. Sounds crazy but it is true. Rewatch the game. For the first 15mins Town worked hard to get the upper hand. We were in control of the game until Elphick went gaga for a moment. While still flustered Derby got scored a great 2nd goal. The only other chance they had on goal was when Bacuna got fouled, which the ref didn't give, the ball went to the Derby player who fired fast into their striker and Grabara made a great save.
I am balanced and it must be pointed out Mooy, Bacuna and Pritchard while doing so good things were sloppy on the ball for the 1st 30 mins.
2nd half, Derby did not have a single shot on goal. We created Schindlers good chance which produced and excellent save and Kachunga's gold-plated chance on the 78th min.
It is clear Huddersfield are using a channel pressing system (players block off available passing channels) rather than player pressing (Wagner's system of compressed space and swarming around the opposition player to win the ball back). I think this is why some callers to the Radio Leeds post match were mentioning the fitness levels. In this new system unless an opportunity presents itself, we are not going to see high-up high-press tactics. On 2nd watch the players did not seem any less tired than the Derby players. Indeed the Town players were working harder as Derby were in a defensive formation.
Derby reached the play off finals, they are a good team and despite the main stream journalistic narrative Town were good. But we have got to finish our chances!

Try to attack up the middle instead of obsessed with wings.

Attacking through the middle involves players making quick decisive forward passes We don’t currently have the guts to try these. I’m sure we have the players to do it but they need a couple of good results to get the confidence back Jan has the re watch the game and see that we just don’t try killer passes and far too often play sideways and backwards because it’s the easy safe option |

Huddersfield were not perfect, 'rusty' as a poser above says, but watch how many chances or actual attacks Derby make. Nothing in the 2nd half. Not much in the 1st. Huddersfield have a lot of work still to do, but its not all doom&gloom. The initial post game reaction was way over the top. |

Derby looked like the home team in the first half the way they were knocking it around. We sat off them like they were contagious. There will be lot harder tests than Derby. That is the concern.

There's no one more willing to be positive than me but I am also a realist and the performance on Monday raised so many more questions than answers. It was disappointing to say the least.
The positives were the fans who have stuck with us and the nice blue carpet around the pitch.

It wasn’t THAT bad. A stupid error from Elphick really is the catalyst for this outburst. Ultimately if you look at our team and squad in comparison to the start of 2016/17 it’s hard to argue that there’s only Right back that we’re worse off position wise. The rest are either the same or better. Whether those that are the same are quite as motivated is another factor Which brings me to the main question marks. Are we Better off in the managers office or in the boardroom. I really want Jan to succeed, but someone should be able to get a tune out of these players |

I'm getting pretty sick of folk who gave a negative response to Monday night's 'performance' being branded as 'knee-jerk' or whatever.
If you think that anyone who reacted negatively is 'knee-jerk' or a 'cretin' then you are either extremely Fucking stupid, or must have not watched a Huddersfield Town game for over 12 months, because Monday was a seamless continuation of the same dross we have been witnessing over that period.
How many home wins in the past 12 months is it?

Once the second went on it was pretty obvious there was no way back, they were never gonna push hard for a third, it was a good professional performance from them to see out the game and as said if they had to they could probably have made us look silly again by passing it round us and scoring more. Derby looked a class above for large parts of the match, in fact they looked a much better side than last season to me which is also worrying. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards |
