The wording of Mel Booths article this morning is concerning. "PH is aiming to have a manager in place by the Sheffield Wednesday game". That is a bit different from the suggestions on Saturday that it was close. Yes. Previously he said an appointment was imminent.

That is a bit different from the suggestions on Saturday that it was close. if that is the case then we are fooked. Honestly can the club be any more tinpot? Just employ a manager who knows he is doing and pay him the going rate. Surely that is not to difficult for our board to understand?

The difference between Wagner & Powell - Wagner spent 99.9% of his time in Huddersfield, he very rarely went back to Germany, apart from holiday. With Powell, after every game, he was straight on the train heading South! There was a major concern by Town with how much time was spent training! It was never going to work. Town won't want the same situation again! I've been down this road before, he did NOT go back home after every game. Saw him at Canalside regularly on a Monday watching the U21s. You have no idea how often Wagner skipped back over to Germany by the way, even if it was just for job interviews. Guess what, after every change of manager concerns are raised about lack of fitness.

Perhaps the hold up is the club we could be getting the manager from need to get their new man sorted?

Mike Tullberg! I have no idea what he’s like but he’s the current Borussia Dortmund II coach so that’s normally all it takes

I wonder if the hold up is because PH / DH wants to keep Hudson on the staff and trying to find a manager that will work with him? Bad news if that’s the case. Whatever, the new man should have been in place straight after our last game, this is in danger of turning out to be another farce. I said at the time that Hudson should have followed Siewert out of the door. He has been the First Team Coach during our worst ever period results wise. He then stabbed Siewert in the back last week by blaming him for the team being unfit, even though Hudson was the coach!! Either way, it points to Hudson being a yes man because if he was concerned he should have brought it up with Siewert in his position of First Team Coach. He has since showed us during his 3 games in charge that he is clueless and there's no plan apart from "playing how Wagner played" which didn't work anyway. The new manager should be allowed to have a clean break and bring in his own coaching staff otherwise he'll be on a loser straight away with Hudson sat behind him in the dugout with the knives out....again.

Correct, but how many times has the coach responsible for the fitness blamed the previous manager? I think that'll be just the one (Hudson).

It would be nice to have this sorted ASAP, just to give the Manager the best opportunity to succeed. Every day that goes by during this International break is a day wasted that the new Manager could have taken advantage of.

The more I think about it the more likely I see Hudson staying. Phil may be looking back fondly to that 43 games unbeaten run and will bring back Clark as boss with Hudson as assistant. Hope I’m completely wrong but nothing surprises me anymore with our League 1 management.

Being an Imp I think the chances of Danny and Nicky Cowley becoming the next Town manager are slim at best. Main reasons being, as far as I am aware they have never left a club mid term or whilst in contract, starting from their days at Concord through Braintree and then at Lincoln. They are both under contract at Lincoln until 2022 so any club willing to tempt them away will have to fork out serious money, rumoured to be around half a million. Obviously this is peanuts to some clubs but they were one of the favourites to take over at West Brom and Derby this summer, and heavily linked with others before, yet they are still at Sincil Bank.
I think the Cowleys are very determined and ultra driven people to succeed and will at some stage move on to bigger and better things. Whilst they think they have a chance of taking Lincoln as far as they can and the ambition of the club can match theirs I can’t see them moving. They have a say in how things are done here to to the most minute detail and have a very man management hands on ethos, they wouldn’t even be in charge of picking the team at the J Smiths Stadium according to your radio debate last night.

It's much more money but it's a very difficult time for us and may well IF they were ever interested or interviewed for the job, be an unnecessary move at this time.?

Would be ideal if we replaced the chairman also in one go... This guy is clueless.. Might help when it's sorted and we need to move on, some of the 'support' could do with replacing? As they seem to be experts on football club management and tactical fucking genius's, what they are still doing pontificating on posting sites is a fucking mystery?🤔 well said they havnt a clue make accusations that they have no proof about and if ph is cluless god help some on here

That's an interesting point. I didn't hear the radio debate, but I assume that there are potential managers who wouldn't fancy not having control of the football side. This is what PH said about David Webb's role: "He said: "Head of football operations is exactly that: it's an operational job. Their role is to manage the operations of the football side of the club, so the academy all the way through to the recruitment, et cetera. "They have an overseeing role on the recruitment, but what a head of football operations allows us to do is to continue with our structure and with [head of recruitment] Josh Marsh, who is really really good at what he does and very valuable to us."

Reading between the lines what Cowley said and I paraphrase, games are coming thick and fast, focussed on the job at Lincoln. I think he’s coming to Town. Maybe I’m wrong but he didn’t outright rule himself out. no he didn't!

Glennon talking shite again probably Sort of thing that would have been picked up on here lightning fast, though. I mean the allegation that someone else has been picking the team is pretty controversial (even if it might not be true), surely no pundit/journalist would be that bold to suggest something unsubstantiated? Rhetorical :-)

PP talks so much shit his office must be full of it..... We are only interviewing those that apply for it, We are close to an appointment.... HOPEFULLY before the Sheff Wed game.
Gone full fucking circle in 2 weeks again, If you have interviewed everyone then what the fuck are we waiting for? or are we now planning on approaching a new manager and sacking the interview process off?
Clubs been run like amateur hour at the local comedy club. Village.

The aim must have been to get a new coach in early this week to give him time to get to know the players and to get his methods across in training before the next game in two weeks time.
If no one has been appointed by the weekend, I think we can safely say that we have been turned down by our top choices.
Only when the Wednesday game comes along and we have failed to attract a new coach can we say that this is a complete shit fest. But it will be.
