Against a very dangerous in-form Brentford side, who had won their last three outings, Saturday was a consummate away performance - keeping things tight at the back, patient football and taking the chance when it came. This win stretched our unbeaten run to seven games and Town are now up to 18th with a four point cushion above the drop zone. The upcoming game at Preston North End looks another tough test. The Lilywhites went top of the Championship table on Sunday with a good 1-0 win at Charlton Athletic.

What makes white "lilywhite"? Isn't white just white? Are there other shades of white?

I am going for the win in this one, I think we are starting to become a solid unit and we have a striker who doesn’t need too many chances to score goals. I think we will limit them to very few chances and nick it 1-0 UTT

It is hard to win 3 on the bounce in any league. Both clubs have won their last two. Nailed on draw.

Preston looked good today. Strong at the back and some good movement up front. Think this will be a loss.
Plus we never bloody win at Preston. 50 years since our last win there isn't it?

Most folk thought we'd lose at Brentford. I don't see pne as a better team than them... Away win and a massive statement made as we head toward the top 6 :-)

Always think back to that god awful plastic pitch whenever we play at Deepdale. Only place I’ve seen all 22 players wearing ‘leggings’ after John Beck instructed that tonnes of sand be dumped on it to deaden the bounce ! Nearest I’ve seen to a win was a 1-1 draw during the Hand era when we conceded a 90th minute equaliser. I think Iffy scored for us that day.

10th November 1969 4-0 to Town was our last win at Preston. To be fair there has been a lot of meetings in that period too. Is the date a good omen?

Preston was the first away fixture I went to on my own. Early in the 82-83 season and we managed a good 0-0 draw that day. It’s the only time I’ve ever been to Deepdale.

There was also a 3-3 draw with us scoring two in the last couple of minutes in the late 80s.

Yeah, Chris Hutchings and Robert Wilson scored the two late goals. I was at the 2-1 loss, think it was 1993, when Buxton came in and saved us.

Like many others I’ve never seen Town win at Deepdale. In fact that last night game,we were losing before we even got in the ground. Things are different now though and anything could happen. One thing is for sure. The Cowleys will have done their homework on the opposition. Let’s hope it is a repeat of yesterday’s result.

I’d like to think it was a night match, but that might be the Four Yorkshireman in me. Definitely drafty. I think Lawson made one for Frank and Frank made Jimmy’s.

Preston are nothing to fear at all. Saw them against Leeds and they were dire for most of it
The fact they're top sums up this division

6 wins and 2 draws in their 8 home games suggest that PNE are as tough an away test that we'll have this season.
Surprised to see so many Town fans dismissing their strength.
We have the same away record as them, so it just shows how making your home ground a fortress can be so vital to success in this league.
I would be delighted with a point.

They haven't lost at home in the league since April.
