The 2-0 home win over QPR was a welcome result that stretched the gap over the drop zone to six points. Not that this looked likely at half-time after 21-year-old Eberechi Eze generalled the first period! As against Fulham, we started too slowly and played far too sloppily. This time, however, the much more limited opponents failed to punish us and, courtesy of a fine finger-tip save by Jonas Lossl, we reached the safety of the interval unscathed. I don't know what was in the half-time tea but whatever it was it worked! The team came out with renewed determination and, with Eze fading out of the match, gradually asserted their superiority such that the two-goal margin in no way flattered the Terriers.
Wednesday night's home clash with Cardiff City looks a much tougher encounter with the visitors unbeaten in five Championship fixtures. On 21 August 2019, we lost the reverse fixture 2-1. Following the Bluebirds 1-0 win at Luton Town, with Lee Tomlin's third goal in four games, they now lie in 8th, just four points off the playoffs. Unlike QPR, the visitors have therefore something to play for. The Welsh outfit, though, find it hard to win on the road and have a 3-7-6 away record. My view is that a draw is the most likely outcome, giving a satisfactory return of four points across the two games.

I've got a feeling we might just sneak a win in this one, it'll be a shite game though, it normally is against them

A scrappy 1-0 win will do just to get the 3 points.

Just hope Chelobah is benched again as we looked far better in midfield without him. Even Andy King looked good when he came on so hopefully Chelobah drops down the pecking order as for the game time he has had his contribution has been nowhere good enough. O’Brien, Smith and Bacuna give us the pace and energy we have been lacking at times. With our squad we can now at least go into every game thinking we have a chance and with a fixture coming up in March against Beeston maybe we could add to their losing streak.

We flopped in our last big opportunity to pull away from the relegation zone when we played Stoke at home.
Hope the galvanised squad has enough. Feeling confident we can scrap a 1-0 with a piece of individual brilliance from Bacuna or ESR

Can see us scoring but I’ve never seen us beat Cardiff gone or away and suspect they’ll score too.
I’m going with a score draw, Desmond.

Pantomime villain Fatty Tomlin will have an important say in this, of that I have no doubt.

we are going to smash em! 4 - 1 super stevie perfect hat trick. 1 off his arse form 2 yards out, 1 off his knee from 1 yard out and the third from 10 inches with his c*** in injury time.

Cardiff always seem to do us with headers...they're dangerous ar crosses and have some big lads... Smithies makes a return, along with Morrison, Richards, Ward, Paterson, peltier ?.... Surely we've got to beat them this time..?

The reason why Cardiff are not top 6 this season is their away form, they've managed 3 wins in 16 on the road.

We have played the best football in yonks in the last 3 games, winning 2 of them, the Cowleys want our ground to be a fortress, with a superb defence and and a good balance within the team, I can only see our play and attacking intent getting better.
Going for a 3-1 win with just a blip of leaking a goal.

The 1990 one was a remarkable result as up until that game had been utter dog shit on a losing streak of 5 or 6 games also without scoring, the we went and put 5 past them at Ninian Park. Maskell 4 goals. The season petered out quite badly after this game with us winning only a further 3 games and leaving us finishing a disappointing 8th after seemingly being in a good position to at least make the play offs.
