Harrogate loan close. Could’ve gone to fleetwood but club wanted them to cover more of his wages. 🤡 League 2…. Thought he’d of got better then that He could have but by the sounds of it, the club made it difficult .

Are you saying that Harrogate can afford his wages but Fleetwood can't? That doesn't seem to make a right lot of sense Yes, that is what I’m saying He could rip it up in L2 playing in a team that has 3 town players starting week in week out. You can see why that's a win win for Town. Plus Weaver and Bromby are best mates.

So we should subsidise him playing for Fleetwood over Harrogate? If they won’t pay the going rate then that’s on them.

I hope there is a recall. If he goes and absolutely batters goals in, he would need recalling with his confidence. I’ll place money now he scored minimum 5 goals before end of season

Hope he kicks ass and proves that he should have been given his chance here earlier. Lets hope he does, but he obviously hasnt shown enough to earn that chance here in the 1st team yet. They arent going to not play him if they think he can do well. After so many set backs injury wise, the kid needs to be playing regular football first and foremost. Hopefully he'll get that now and we can see where he is in January.

Kicks ass? What Yorkshireman talks like that? Obviously I've been watching too much NFL coverage recently going into the start of the new season. Dan Campbell & Pat McAfee have gotten to me!

And yes we don’t see every game and him in training but there have been players not given a chance at plenty of clubs, not just ours, who have done well. Coaches can get things wrong, as we have seen all too much so early on this season.

But its a big step from B team football to 1st team football, and its not like we're shy when it comes to giving youngsters a chance ion they think its warranted. Pat Jones being the latest. Think you've just got to trust the coaches to get the progression right and at the right time.

Better for him to be playing every minute in league 2 right now than fighting for his place in league 1. Look forward to seeing what he can do.

Why are people acting like this kid hasn't been out injured for 95% of his time here?

Why are people acting like this kid hasn't been out injured for 95% of his time here? Despite scoring a few goals for the reserves - he’s totally untested in the Championship. If the club thought he was anywhere near ready to step up he’d still be here.

Coaches can get things wrong, as we have seen all too much so early on this season. We have seen a number of young players, who have done well in the B team and the odd cameo in the first, have a couple of poor games, Scott High is a good example, and really struggle. I wonder after the problems he has had if he needs a confidence boost, which hopefully getting regular games in L2 may give him. It is very difficult to know what will best suit different players and although you seem unhappy with this move young players do get a chance if they look up to it. Camara and Jones are two good examples of that.

If the club thought he was anywhere near ready to step up he’d still be here. 18 year old Luke Mbete has come here from Manchester City, hasn’t kicked a ball professionally in mens football. He’s signed for us to play, no way are Manchester City sending him here to watch from the bench. How is he ready to play yet 22 year old Danny Grant who played 60 games for Bohemians is. We even played Koroma ahead of Grant who looked neither interested or fit to cut the pitch let alone kick a ball on it. This untested in the championship doesn’t wash for me, not when we’ve signed Mbete.

Think theres a big difference between being good enough to be on arguably the best club side in the world's bench a couple of dozen times and making a few cup appearances for them.. and being good enough to play for Bohemians, with all respect to them. Not sure what the standard is in the League of Ireland but Harrogate could be on a par or even a step up.

There are occasions where players of exceptional talent become available, which by all accounts, Mbete is. Similar to the Colwill signing who is a class player. I’d agree that you can never tell if a player is ready until they have played but surely we have to trust the judgment of our coaches on this. Obviously, we haven’t seen

From what I have seen of Danny Grant, he's not better and no worse than Brahima Diarra, who most will know I am his biggest fan. However, Brahima is not ready for first team championship football yet and neither is Danny Grant. Ettiene Camara and Pat Jones are ahead of both of them and thus getting chances with the first team. Brahima went to Harrogate last year and smashed it. They have been trying to get him back all summer according to their manager, but I think we probably wanted to get him a League 1 loan, however, he got injured and that scuppered those plans. I recon he'll go out in January. If Danny Grant can go and do what Brahima did, then maybe in January we'll move him to a League 1 club. Let's just see how he does. Just because a lad does well in the B team does not mean he's ready for Championship football. Kian Harratt and Kieran Philips have been smashing goals in for the B team, but neither of them are Championship standard strikers...........yet. Brodie Spencer has played 3 times for the full Northern Ireland team, but against Preston he showed that he's not ready yet for the Championship. bobrobterrier, I know you are Grant's biggest fan, as I am Diarra's, but don't let that cloud your judgement

Both Schofield and Carlos clearly feel that he's not yet up to Championship standard and playing in the League of Ireland is probably akin to National League level at best. Mbete recently played for Man City in a friendly at Barcelona and I doubt they'd have signed him up until 2027 if they didn't rate him. Levi Colwill was only 18 when we signed him and he'd had no previous first team experience.

It’s easy from the outside to suggest a player is good enough, ready or “can’t be any worse”. I know a lot of folk hate to trust the club’s judgement, but sometimes you have to. I’d rather have a bit of patience with Grant and him reach his full potential, than rush him and go backwards. I know for a fact, Scott High has been very highly rated throughout the academy but he was put in too early and wasn’t ready.
