I've always said I'll watch us in any division, even if we fell out of the league. I can cope with us being shit. But the toxic environment at the club right now is so depressing. We deserve better. What is this so-called toxic environment in reality? It's a reaction by a relatively small handful of fans, mostly on-line only, to a club on pause mode, going through the motions unable to really DO anything because we're outside a transfer window and the owner(s?) are trying to sell it without compromising any ongoing due-diligence process. What do those who are creating the toxicity (which is not the players, not the manager or coaching team, and not even the incumbent owner(s?) in reality) need to calm them? They need the club to be sold ASAP to remove uncertainty about the future, and ideally we don't get relegated in the meantime. Don't they think that that is what is already happening?? Meanwhile, most fans will continue to back a team that's low on quality but is at least trying, and throwing out a few moans of frustration (but hardly described as 'toxic') when we're inevitability losing more games of football than we're winning or drawing.

I’ve been at the JSS before when there’s been a toxic environment. This feels worse. Rank apathy has firmly set in and folk are voting with their feet in choosing not to attend games. In some ways, this is worse.

Apathy certainly has firmly set in, and it’s sad to see. I haven’t seen as many empty seats around me (Riverside lower south end) since at least 2015, probably longer, and the atmosphere is non-existent. It all filters down from the top. Nothing to cheer on the pitch, piss poor football with no identity, no ambition. All those millions wasted with nothing to show for it but debt & an ageing stadium (which, like the team, also badly needs investment). Depressing stuff. It’s hardly a surprise there is apathy.

In some ways, this is worse. Couldn't agree more. A Toxic atmosphere has an anger and energy you can feel. There is nothing at all in terms of atmosphere at the moment. If the group I go with is anything to go by, there is a numbness and a general acceptance that we are done for. No point attacking the players for lack of effort, they are putting it in. They lack quality, nothing to be done there. We need new recruits and the manager has said that is not going to happen and any saleable asset is been shown the door in January. We will left with a squad of kids and players we cannot get off the books. Just speaking with my pal ,between us we are regulars with over 100 years following town , and both came up with the same thought. We have gone past mad, just a general acceptance of the inevitability of relegation and that it might be the least of our worries. TTID

Hoyle had two buyers before the playoff final as far as I'm aware. He gambled with the clubs future and lost.
We're now bottom of the Championship claiming he saved us.
Fuck off!!!

When I refer to a toxic environment I mean behind the scenes. Not in the stands.
Hoyle and Hodgkinson. Hoyle picked his successor yet clearly hates the man. And yet people now say they trust him to sell to the right people. Hodgkinson clearly detests Hoyle right back. Hoyle now seems to resent running the club, treats the fans with disdain and would much rather we all just sit quietly and be grateful while the club goes down the pan on his watch. Hero to zero, totally. And the fans are, mainly, apathetic now. Resigned to relegation before Christmas. Because if the guy at the wheel is determined to steer us into the abyss, why waste energy being angry about it? Something is very rotten in the state of HTAFC.

I have been as critical as anyone, however if Dean never held the shares and still doesn't how could have have sold up?

There was a Power of Attorney signed on 30 May 2022 which allows Dean to legally act, as can be seen referenced on the attached… ibb.co/zN1w7hs

Ah ok, yeah understood that makes more sense in terms of a description of toxicity...although I think all your second paragraph is based on speculation and you (rightly) 'caring' about the club rather than being a definite reality. There's not really much that can happen outside a transfer window, outside of changing the manager...and we've already tried that. At some point you've got to look at the players available and think, "well what did we expect". I know its a big point to bar, but barring creating the actual goal-scoring chances, we've looked half-decent in these two games since the break, against two clubs that are reasonably likely to be playing Premier League football next season. There's a lot of "if's" obviously, but if just a couple of players can get ticking, bolstered by even a minor freshening up of the squad in January (and we've already signed at least one), then I'm sure they'll give it a good go. Whatever happens, hopefully moves are made early, as January and February looks like a run of fixtures that will settle the season one way or the other. Its at least better than supporting than Birmingham or Stoke with us having something to fight for every season - although I'd prefer more like last season than this.

As I see it it’s down now to the fact the Dean and Ph don’t actually like each other. I know in Deans last game against Man Utd , Phil ignored Dean and Janet. Dean was pissed off by that. So Phil won’t give up his shares for free - I guess why should he ? - Dean is probably saying - when I stepped in due to your spending I had to be put in “x” - so that’s the price of your shares. Now the club find its self in limbo. Clearly the books don’t balance so Dean has said - get rid of the high earners - I’m not funding it anymore - I guess why should he when he only owes 25% ? Whilst on the pitch the product they are offering is absolutely garbage. Hence the fans not going - and the amount disharmony between fans and the club. Dean & Phil need to sort this out rapidly. Both claim to be fans of the club. I’m not seeing that at all. This is probably a very good assessment of our position I guess Big Phil wants his money back and Dean is saying your shares are worth say £10m I have funded the club to the value of £8m and I want your 75% for £2m and Phil is saying No. If you are correct it would appear that it is Big Phil who is destroying our club.

It certainly has for me. Twelve years I've consecutively had a ST, and this season I've used it twice. At first I was sad/angry at the situation, but now it's getting to the point where I outright just don't care, there are far better ways to spend a Saturday afternoon (Not that any games are actually played on a Saturday afternoon now)

The Captain may bleat on and on about entitlement and the fact the only reason fans are p****d off is that DH isn't putting as much money in the club. A few may think like that but it seems to me the reason the vast majority are p****d off is that DH seems to be just bored with the club, has forgotten he should be a leader and a figurehead and that we're a club representing the community and not his personal train set . The way fans are being treated to with regards to communication and supporters groups not even being listened to on matters which really only affect suporters (e.g ticket priority) is difficult to accept. It should be no surprise people are becoming apathetic.
