At the game yesterday my mate said it wouldn’t surprise him if the club did something crazy with season tickets, like give them away to existing holders for free! I told him they might have to at this rate, but it got me thinking of weird and wonderful things they could do.
What about this as an idea?
£500 for all adult tickets. However, every time you attend a game the club transfer £10 to your bank account. Therefore going to 23 games makes the ticket £270, but people who renew and pick the odd game are disadvantaged.
This will encourage more people to turn up and keeps the liquidity of the club better with the money they are likely to return in the club will be sat in a bank account. If they get the match day bits right then most people will probably spend a £10 at least on beer, food etc when attending a game anyway.
Doesn’t have to be £500, just used it for an example but would help to fill the ground, build atmosphere and offer value to those who attend regularly.
Then just price kids tickets cheap (£50/£75) etc to help families with total costs of renewing.
Just an idea.

It's following the model of most energy companies in a way.. it'd be a tough job keeping track of 9000 transactions every game though.

I’ve not read the whole thread…
Don’t we still have cheap tickets if we didn’t take our money back from the season we couldn’t actually go in the ground??

Been attending for over 40 years..
I’ve only bought a season ticket twice in that time..
2018/19..
2023/24..
Relegated both times..
I’m NEVER buying a season ticket again..

i’ve always thought there should be more options with season tickets.
3 and 5 year options? 1st half of the season tickets you can extend, 10 games tickets? Gold season tickets with some benefit of some kind. i suspect away ticket priority might become an issue believe it or not again next year looking at the grounds we are going to add that into the benefit somehow?
At the very least different prices in different parts of the ground.
Then on a different note if some regulars really are not coming back stands to reason they have good seats, promote that. Also existing season card holders acquire new children and friends on the way, have a small grace window where they can see seats around them that become available. that only they can buy.
And my final rambling most companies don’t like losing customers. Once the deadline has gone imagine if Kevin, Andy Booth or the like actually picked the phone up and called you and asked you why and try change your mind. At the very worst it’s great feedback. That really would be a small club mentality benefit.

Sorry but that might be a tough sell especially for those who lost money with David Taylor's 4 years season ticket offer. Thankfully I paid on credit card so was able to reclaim the lost money under Section 75 protection when the club went into administration.

They had 25 year ones at Bradford when that crook Richmond was in trouble. Mental looking back. You are obviously correct, definate flaws to it.

You’ll probably find over 90% of people easily have. They just don’t want to admit it and would rather look at in their bank account.

There are a group of 10/15 of us who regularly attend home and away games. Whilst we will be probably more selective with away games, probably the ones we have never been too or not for a long while there is only one guy that is 50/50 whether to renew. We have all become friends, both within Town watching and out and the social part will stay. I appreciate we are unlikely to be a fair cross section but perhaps if the price stays ok we may shift more than we think.

I go with a group around 20! and bar 1 or 2 all will be renewing as long as the price doesn’t rise too much.

I'll def be renewing, think £300 would be fair.
Be good if we could shift 15,000 season cards...
I'm optimistic for now, but need to have a really good summer, retain as many as possible (expecting Thomas and Helik to definitely go) as we have a lot of players who should be good in League One.
Over to you KN, time to ensure the same mistakes as last summer don't get made again...

Just a quick question. There will be those adults out there that have been taking their kids for a while, who won’t have seen Town in L1. What’s there view, are the kids still keen to go next season or they stropping around the house claiming they are not going again?

If those 2 are going then I can only think of Rudoni and Healey and possibly Spencer and I doubt we'll keep 2 of those 3 either.

I’ve not read the whole thread… Don’t we still have cheap tickets if we didn’t take our money back from the season we couldn’t actually go in the ground?? That scheme finished, and the price of *ALL* season tickets were REDUCED to match that discounted price ahead of this season. www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-reduce-202324-season-26683359"The 2023/24 season card prices will be £249 for all adults, while Under 23s will have to pay £159. Under 18s will have to pay £129, Under 16s £109, and Under 11s just £49.
Those prices are down from last season, in order to slightly relieve the burden of the current cost of living crisis on fans." In a statement released to the club's website, Marketing and Communications Director David Threlfall-Sykes said: "We are always at our best as a club when we have our supporters behind us in numbers, and that is our primary motivation for pricing our 2023/24 Season Cards so affordably.
It's a statement and position that makes it more or less impossible to rise prices in the first year back in League 1.
