I know this isn't fair, as I've never met the guy, but why does my heart have that sinking feeling at the thought of Adkins being our new manager? Scunny... newly relegated? He might be brilliant and inspiring and the best manager on the planet, but... it all feels so small time!
Don't crucify me, I'm just being honest with my thoughts here. If Deano does pick him I will get behind him 100% (we just HAVE to this time, nothing less will do!)
Somebody please tell me something really positive about this possible appointment. I genuinely want to change my mood.
Cheers.

yeah hope its not adkins. surely better options than him. if i was going for a young manager in our division would rather have tilson from southend. adkins has been in charge of scunny for 2 seasons and they have gone backwards.

but... it all feels so small time! unfortunately we are small time. all you have to do is watch The Championship on a sunday morning, Town even when they beat Leeds didnt feature in the League One section until about 10other games had been shown. Town just isn't a liked team, its not hated either, other teams and their fans are just totally indifferent about us.

Nothing positive in the slightest. Laws got scunny up that first season adkins just took over for abit. And then he couldn't keep them up in the championship. Also in his time there he has not made one decent signing. Hurst, Taylor etc were all ready there before he took over. He then brought Mirfin & Hayes back to the club that's about all he has done.......Looks like were in for another year or so of fun & games. But dont get me wrong i hope he makes me eat my words....

When Dean saw the whites of his eyes he realised they were bigger than all the other candidates(I think the glasses may have had something to do with it)

If he was without a club, then he might well be a sensible option, but it is a lot of compo, if rumours are true.
He doesn't boast a great deal of experience, if we want ambitious first timers, there's your Mitchells and your Unsworths, but if he's appointed, I'll be fully behind him.

Klever boy.. I wouldn't listen to rumours mate... There is nothing decided either way yet. Give it around 2 week and then put your ears up again.

So, were slagging folk off before they have even got the job now Clubs got no future at all if this is how people are going to react. Manager is on a hiding to nothing before he's even taking over.

We're not allowed to have preferred candidates then Pozza? I think Adkins could do a job, or he could fail. I think Mitchell could do a job, or he could fail. I think Allardyce could do a job, or he could fail. I think Sir Alex Ferguson could do a job, or he could fail. It's hard to tell how a given manager will do at any particular club. Maybe Adkins would be a superb appointment, maybe he wouldn't, but I'm not sure he'd justify that amount of compo. I'll back whoever we appoint, but I'd be happier with some candidates than I would be with others.

I'm not saying it would be the wrong appointment... not at all. What do I know? Just want to hear all the good things about the guy. More than prepared to get behind him should he be appointed.

The sooner we get someone in, the sooner the fans can get on his back and start hounding him out, the sooner we can go through this "select a new manager" business again
