Is that all?
I was under the impression that they always brought 15,000 over here for this game.

2,500 tickets. Is that all they have been given?
As the Pink Link holds 4,000 surely this is a missed opportunity for more revenue. Our friends from LS11 got more tickets than that!
I would have fancied Oldham to bring over 3,000 as we are
A: Just down the road
and
B: Both going well in the league.
Anything less than 16,000 on Saturday will be dissapointing!

I think that was their initial allocation. If they sell that out, they'll probably let 'em pay on the day.

the pink link may hold 4000 but with WYP and that oaf of a safety officer, they normally cover up the end blocks in the pink link as well as in the antich and DG thats nearest to the away fans

Ah yes. The near sell out. 17-18000 attendance, with 6000 empty seats

Ill guess at about 17000.
Whats the point of having an away stand that holds 4000 if you're going to allow yourself to be dictated to by WYP into never filling it. If they are so crap at policing football games then thats their problem to sort out. No other force in the country seems to have issues policing large travelling numbers and many times they don't even have a stand entirely to themselves to make it a whole lot easier to police. Town should just say to WYP- We have facilities to house 4000 visiting fans with more than adequate segregation. We will sell 4000 if we can. You just do your f**king job.

There's no way on this planet that any seats should need to be cordoned off whilst the away fans are situated where they are; there's a bloody massive gap between the two stands. WYP are an absolute joke. Like you said it's their own inability to do their job that leads to these ridiculous decisions, such as closing off seats and generally trying to make it as difficult as possible for us to have the Pink Link as the home end (plus decisions that will be costing us even more money; like police horses - are they really necessary when we're playing Hereford?). I can see a mass revolt against this kind of autocracy within football; it's clear that we're getting increasingly sick and tired of the police criminalising us all. With the recession affecting everyone except the footballers themselves, the police and everything else, I honestly believe it could lead to increased hooliganism, or people turning their back on the game.

Exactly we built a 24,000 seater stadium for a reason. Why didn't we build a 20,000 seater so that WYP are happy? Its not like the fans are even in the same stand as each other, only then could I understand some cordoning off. I've never seen trouble in the ground before anyway.

The club should suggest to WYP that they contact any number of other police forces to get advice on how to do their job properly. Maybe Hampshire Police would be a good one as they police Fratton Park where they regularly have large visiting numbers of 2 or 3000, SHARING the stand behind the goal with home support with only a couple of empty rows of seats seperating them. Yet somehow do this without any noticable problems occuring Im aware of.
The club should get this sorted NOW and make WYP fully aware that when demand is there, the away stand will be sold to capacity, whether they like it or not. When we go up, even in the championship there will be many games where 4000 visitors will be a possibility. In the prem, should that happen, almost every game would be. The idea that the club should lose out on potentially hundreds of thousands of pounds because WYP are too inept to police a crowd properly is one that the club should not stand for.

unfortunately we shouldnt be surprised-the problem is clearly WYP,but also that arrogant oaf who's the stadium safety officer-he hasnt got a clue as to how to do his job,and WYP,well,i wouldnt trust them when it came to policing a tea party for 3 people properly, let alone a 20k plus stadium that regularly gets upwards of 10k fans in-the lot of em are useless, worthless, incompetent, incapable, and about as much use as dog sh*t on a stick

Funny how the fixtures throw up such a decent derby match just as everything is so positive , at home , first game of the new year with hopefully near to 17,000.... some people saying still 7,000 empty seats but we forget weve a big stadium, 24,000 is a fair old capacity imo. think it will be a score draw !

Shame that they can't have anymore. Like bloody Oliver Twist...
"More sir!"
A chance of a decent crowd and revenue etc.

Aye but that revenue would have to be off set to pay for the extra Police costs, so we wouldnt really make that much.

if it was up to me id shift people out the fantastic stand lower to fit more away support in.the more the merryer.we need the money and filling the stadium should be or goal.why waste seats. also leeds would be paying 27/30 quid like we had too.
a full away end = new signings sod the police time they earned there double time wage
