Just thinking about it, if the wage is £3.2mill, then that works out approx £2500 per player, per week.
If you think that Denton, Codman, Broadbent, Smithies, Berrett & Skarz will be on no more than £1k p/w, then certain players must be earning a fair bit more to make the numbers add up.

I cant see us paying those kind of wages until we are in the championship, or atleast i hope thats the case. If Lucketti and Unsworth are on 5k, then Ternent really does want shooting. I know it seems quite high, but if Championship players can earn 30k+ a week, it seems quite plausable for us to pay a couple of players 5k easy. I'd have everyone on a low wage personally, then top it up with bonus' like clean sheets, wins, goals scored etc. Gives the team an extra insentive to play well. How then would you sign better players?

How then would you sign better players? Terms would be set out to them before they joined the club. Obviously the standard wage would be higher than the average wage, but nothing stupid. If the player performed well, they'd make more money. If they wern't happy with that then I wouldn't want them at the club.

I have posted on here before regarding this subject. In the Racing Post before the season started the Hamilton Manager was interviewed. He said that after the Town game he was talking to some of the clubs Directors who told him our top earners were on £6K per week.He drew a direct comparison with his own side newly promoted to the top division in Scotland whose whole first team combined did not reach £6K per week!!

I think there is some confusion between pre and post-tax salaries.

So are we stuck with Lucketti and Unsworth and co for 2 years? If these 2 left we could have a couple of quality signings, unless we had to pay up their contracts.

Denton is on £750 a week and he turned down £1500 a week from Blackburn just to play for town,
Skarz is on slightly more than that, unsworth & lucketti are on £6000 a week.

There will be variations in the wages for the Hamilton team, if they earn around £6k a week, they'll be earning an average of roughly £28,000, so some will be on much less than that. I find that hard to believe.

If that's the case we should try for their striker Offiong - best player on the park during the friendly and just the type of striker we should be looking at.
