it will be called off i think sadly. but im bothered about the damage to our pitch remember before it was relaid when it was cold and we had the heating on? all it did was melt the snow and then soak the ground but was trying to heat it at same time, ended up being a mess and cracked :-( I thought someone said there's a new pitch going in over summer anyway? They patched it up last summer didn't they to get another season out of it???

Midday inspection at Swillsboro for our game against the Pigs. I'm hoping it will be called off because it would give us a chance to get injured key players back, for our three loanees today to settle and it will make those dee dars even more of a laughing stock

The walk down Dalton Bank could be a bit dodgy tomorrow !!! In fact the walk down there is a bit dodgy in the middle of August !

No snow after the early hours, depends how much we get overnight but i think there's every chance it will be ON!!!!!
All day to clear the approaches to stadium, which is all that matters, pitch will be playable. Probably be a poor crowd though.

From Hartlepool...
"Undersoil Heating On At Huddersfield Posted on: Mon 02 Feb 2009
Huddersfield Town have informed Pools that they are doing everything they can to make sure Tuesday night's game at the Galpharm Stadium goes ahead.
Heavy snow has hit most of the country overnight throwing the Football League's round of midweek fixtures in to doubt and there is a thin covering on the playing surface at Huddersfield this morning.
However, The Terriers have had their undersoil heating switched on throughout the weekend and work was done on the pitch following their win over Peterborough United there on Saturday.
We will, of course, keep supporters updated with any further news."

I also think it will be on. As long as its not snowing all morning, it soon goes and they will make it safe around the stadium, no chance of the pitch not being playable. Hartlepool will be told after lunch. hope it goes ahead.

If forecast is right (no snow after about 6am), the game should go ahead, a full day to clear up. Quite possible but depends just how much the club want the game on if you ask me?

the club will definitely want the game on,we've basically got nothing to gain by having it called off,but as mentioned, even if they clear the paths etc, doesnt mean the paths/roads etc wont just freeze over tomorrow and make it lethal to even walk

What FUCKS me off is how mad my work are over health and safety, not allowed to used ladders, not allowed to use ipods, not allowed anywhere without a fucking near enough astronaut suit on with a flashing light above yer head, yet they don't give a shit about your safety in getting to work. Got in late today which is what the ongoing redundancies are based on and if you call in to say you can't make it, it comes out your holidays.
Rant over :-)

I so hope this game is on....can anyone remember that game (can't remember who it was against) when there was lots of snow about and snowballs were lobbed by the away fans at the Town keeper all game?
The thing is - there's Town fans behind the goal if it goes ahead tomorrow...is it illegal to throw snowballs at a football pitch???

Got in late today which is what the ongoing redundancies are based on and if you call in to say you can't make it, it comes out your holidays. Rant over :-) I have some sympathy with your comments - until the last line. If you don't take the day from peoples holidays, you are in effect saying those who have struggled into work have given up there day for nothing. Whilst you shouldn't be expected to risk your safety for a company, you also can't be expected to be paid for doing nothing. Re the game today, wonder how many hoping against hope that it is on would fancy the 200 mile+ round trip from Hartlepool in the probable conditions. Surely that has to be taken into consideration? From my own point of view, it's hard (impossible?) to justify to my family it's safe driving 165 miles to a football game (& justify the additional cost of the extra time off work for the longer (timewise) journey) when it's already been announced my son's school is shut today for safety reasons. I hope it's off.

I dont think its snowed as much as they were expecting here in hudds overnight. The roads are covered but its not that deep and its stopped now and theres none expected for the rest of the day. Im a lot higher up than the stadium as well so i reckon theres a good chance it could be on

Can't see much reason why it won't be on. Hardly snowed overnight, and all day to get some grit down in the car parks and round the ground.
