can't help but wonder...i mean i was of the opinion that the players are young and deserve to go out etc
but on Saturday, we obviously lacked that bit of fatigue to hold onto the game until it ended....does anyone think maybe if they hadn't have been out it is possibly may have had that extra energy needed to keep going?!

yea i know, it's just a thought, but i mean i can recover within 12 hours, but then again all i do is sit at a computer all day, but if you are an athlete and having to run constantly for 90min's who knows what kind of affect it has on fatigue?

I guess. There has been times where I have been out on the lash until 3/4am before a game at 9.30 and turned in a MOTM performance (not quite the same level though ). I shouldn't think it could have affected them so badly really as I bet they've been out during the week before games where we have won and not looked as tired.

They shouldn't drink at all during the season. They can go on the lash all they like once they retire, or in the summer.
Once read an article on Neil Hodgson (was a world superbike champion for those that don't know him). He didn't touch alcohol during the season, as he knew it would have some effect on him.
The advantage gained from not drinking may only be a fraction of a percent, but it's an advantage all the same.

Its a bit hard telling people in the prime of their lives that they aren't allowed to go to clubs or pubs.
Other clubs don't and I imagine if we slapped that in as a club rule then a few would look elsewhere to similar clubs without that as a rule.
I agree though, ideally it would be best if they didn't have any alcohol... Besty was fine during his playing days though!

Wine women & everything else didn't seem to affect Frank Worthington too badly before games either!
