Didn't Boothy have a problem with asthma at that time though? I remember watching him in an early cup game & not being impressed but once the asthma was under control, he just became a hero. Boothy struggled in his early pro days and it was Warnock who got a doctor in to assess his asthma medication the rest as they say his history. As for the Arsenal game, I remember watching Ian Wright that night and it was a pleasure to be there, his movement off the ball was tremendous. Despite the 5 goals against I'm glad I went to see Ian Wright Wright Wright play. Never been an Arsenal fan but that man was pure class, his energy was tremendous. Maybe we ought to show the video (as it was in those days) to some of our CF's today.

Ian Wright was a great player but he is an absolute buffoon as a pundit.

Love listening to him on talksport now I've never liked Arsenal and have never had a good word to say about em but Ian Wright that night was awesome, the 'chip' goal from the edge of the box deservedly got an applause from most of the Town fans. Seem to remember merson rattling the bar from about 30 yards out n all...

Turnip's way of thinking....
Alex Smithies - Not good enough for the reserves, put him back in the academy as an overaged player
James Berrett - Let him collect the balls in training
Joe Skarz - Ditto
Tony Grant/Paul Gerrard/David Unsworth - Trials for players who were good 10 years ago.
I think the denton episode is certainly a case of warnock 1 - 0 turnip.

Hopefully Tom still might have a chance at Town.... cant just wright him off just yet ! Can see him having to progress a bit more to get in our first team. Denton has been told by Lee Clark, that he is NOT good enough, and so we short of a miracle his Town career is over

The cash keeps my local club alive for a bit longer. BUT, If anyone ever spins the line 'Raw talent' or 'Not the finished article' past you, the chances are they are talking about a duffer.

Shame as his height could have been a massive asset... If only he used his feet for something other than standing on

From Dentons own mouth, he didn't like being in the 1st team whilst out on loan as it was too hard work, and he couldn't go out on the lash. true pro.
