Some of the figures on here surprise me. Yes, Huddersfield get bigger gates, probably have wealthier directors but the biggest player's wage at Oldham is £3000 per week. And only a couple on that. Hughes on £1800 per week (although a new offer was made to him in Jan). I think the worry for any club at this level is paying daft wages over a long period of time. If promotion arrives then maybe it's justifiable but if not the whole pack of cards collapses. I think you're absolutely right Latto - exactly what happened to Leeds and numerous other clubs that have been hit by relegation while carrying huge wage bills. You only have to look at clubs like like Luton to see what can happen when stupid wages are paid over the long term. One of the reason why I think speculating, or even knowing what players are paid can stop clubs paying out too much and crippling the club. Decisions made by a stupid owner or director can ruin a club that has been supported strongly for a very long time. You can laugh away at Leeds United - but they have incredible history and really should not be playing in Division 1 - only reason they are here is down to bad ownership - not the fans fault.
