In 1987 I was catching the bus from Bradley down Leeds Road to the game. Who is at the bus stop with me with his boot bag in hand.
One and only top scorer - Duncan Shearer.
Top bloke and we had a nice chat - even invited me round his house the week after for a cup of tea.
I doubt any current footballers catch the bus to the game - any stories?

I was stood outside manchester picadilly 3 weeks ago and Ryan Giggs was there waiting for a taxi. I offered to drive him to where he wanted to go as my car was in a multi story just around the corner. He declined

John McAliskey, if you can call him a footballer.

Not a proper bus story but does anyone remember Graham Cooper - a Robin of Sherwood lookalikie ex Town winger? Well me & some mates were in a well known Hudders "nitespot" back in the day & Coops pissed off my mate by pulling the 'do you know who I am card?' at the bar. After a while my mate went over to coops & said that his face was familiar but he couldn't quite place him. He went on & on in front of Coop's group of hangers on saying stuff like don't tell me it's on the tip of my tongue etc. Eventually, when Cooper was getting really annoyed my mate announced in a really loud voice I've got it - you drive the no 37 bus. Cue the place errupting .... maybe you had to be there

Dad used to live over the road from Eddie Gray, and go to the game with him *closet leeds fan monkey* He used to be in the '100 club' or summert (I imagine that was the season ticket holders in total), used to meet the players and stuff in the bar afterward, before players like Jack Charlton would go home on the bus. Fortunately this association with Leeds was gone before I was born.

I have a frequent problem with unwelcome encounters with Town players.
Only last week I was innocently minding my own business when eleven blokes wearing Town shirts walked out in front of me and proceeded to ruin my afternoon.
To make matters worse they left after three quarters of an hour only to return shortly afterwards and do it all over again.

I was once driving down Wakefield Road and had just passed the Grange Moor junction when this Ford Capri went tearing past at a million miles an hour. As we came round the bend dropping down into Town the same Capri was stuck in the crash barriers as the side of the road. Stood at the side surveying the damage was the driver, Graham Cooper.

Saw Goodwin at Sally Nook Post Office a few weeks ago stood outside staring at his mobile looking confused? Maybe he'd forgot how to get to the ground for training? Very refreshing to see him get into a green Ford Focus and drive off...........sensible spender then!
Also, my sisters best mate was the regular babysitter for Phil Starbuck who lived in Lindley.............tenuous or what!
Also saw Robbo, Craney and some other all piled in a Audi A4 - driving down Marsh going to training - Robbo looked well hacked off!! Maybe they'd all had a fall out who was going to drive? ;-)
