We need to keep all of this in proportion and not forget that Lee inherited a midfield heavy squad, with our main strike threat being a guy about to retire. He clearly needs the Summer to re-align the squad, them he can be judged fairly on his own results with his own squad. Spot on for me. Let him build his own squad, get rid of the players he sees as no value to the club and judge him from there. He's already brought in the best player at the club in Pilks (soemone who is destined to go on to bigger and better things...hopefully with us). Let's chill and give the man a bit of time

Also, Gerry's not at the club so in threads about Lee Clark, we should all pack in about "GERRY did this and GERRY did that and the sun shone out of GERRY'S @rse when he was in temporary charge". Save that for a thread about why Gerry Murphy was a good man for Town and accept that he isn't coming back to manage us. Spot on. He was never a long term solution, If he had stayed out this season then retired in the summer we would be in a worse situation because the new manager would have no time to settle in. Don't get me wrong, Gerry did a great job, but he never managed the club for more than a few games at a time. There was undoubtedly a Gerry-bounce factor because the players obviously raised their game for him, but he was never tested in the long term. He also knew most of the players inside out. It's perfectly possible that had be managed the team for a few months, the results might have fallen away when the novelty had worn off. I'm absolutely convinced that Lee Clark will get things right over the next couple of years. I don't think that it is a bad thing that after a good start when he first came here, things have fallen away a little. Some of the existing players have significant shortcomings and he needs to see them, rather than be blinded by one or two good performances. In the short term, it's very frustrating, but I honestly believe that given time, he will get it right and we will have a team to be proud of.

At the end of the day - these stats mean jack.
He's our new manager with new ideas, new staff, new & old players and new enthusiasm.
LC will either succeed, fail to succeed OR fail miserably.
IMO, I am the most optimistic than i've ever been in my 30+ years of support.
With a summer chq book, backroom support, LC's desire to succeed as a manager and his management team's collective eye for players.....................................he'll succeed.
Some 'surprise & pleasantly shocking' signings coming our way this summer. Roll on August.

Clark doesn't have the safety net of a pension, work at MUTV or life of a T.V pundit No, but he had how many years in the top flight earning how many tens of thousands a week? Unless he's been a numpty with his cash he doesn't need to work again. If anything, and from what I've gathered about LC, it'll be personal pride that drives him on and the desire to succeed; the exact same things that made him a successful top-flight footballer. You can't learn that discipline and will, you've either got it or you haven't, and he's got it in spades ...
